Here’s a little peek into one of my favorite rooms in our house…
Welcome to Avery’s nursery! It’s hard to believe that our little girl is here. We have anticipated the arrival of sweet Avery since last spring when we found out that we were pregnant. When we moved into our house almost two years ago, we left one of our bedrooms empty. We were hoping that we may be blessed with another baby but if not, we figured that we could move one of the boys into the room when they got older. Last year, as soon as we found out that our fourth baby was a little girl in late summer…my mind got busy thinking of plans for her nursery. I knew I wanted to create a room that is all her own. Something that was a little girly. Something with some sparkle. And a room that she could grow into for years to come. So today, I am going to invite you into one of my favorite rooms of our house. Welcome to little Avery’s nursery…
I love the way that our nursery turned out and I had so much fun creating this sweet room for our precious little girl. The room was created with lots of effort & love. Immediately, you will notice that we went with a soft pink color. It’s a color that was chosen not just by us, but with big sister Abby’s help. She was so excited to help choose this color for the room and couldn’t wait to transform this blank space into a haven for new baby sister.
You will also notice the star statement wall on the large wall where the crib is located. I wanted to create some sort of accent wall, similar to what her older siblings have in their room. Abby has a statement wall of ombre polka dots & the boys have a really cool superhero statement wall. I decided to go with stars and wanted to create them big to contrast the small polka dots in her sister’s room. I am always up for a good DIY project, so I decided to create my own gold stars using my Silhouette to cut out these gold stars from vinyl. Then, I just stuck them to the wall to make this fun wall of stars.
I love a simple gallery wall for a large blank wall space. Again, I’m a fan of putting my own touch on a space so I created the large sign for the center of this personalized gallery wall, just for our little girl. To keep it simple and sweet, I found a coordinating set of super cute scrapbook paper that I framed and added to the wall as well as two simple metal hearts.
We already owned this crib. I still remember wandering the aisles of several different baby shops trying to find the perfect little crib for our first baby. Nine years later, there’s something super sentimental to me to place Avery into the same crib that we have brought all of her siblings home to.
When it’s your fourth child, there isn’t really much you need when it comes to baby gear. We already had the crib. We have baby clothes, books, & so much more, but there was one thing I was set on replacing. If I could splurge on one thing this time around, it was going to be a new glider. A glider is something that I love to have so I can have a comfortable place to nurse as well as a special spot to read and rock my babies to sleep. This glider replaced one that was well loved, but also well used. I am so happy with our new glider & it now may be the most favorite piece of furniture I own in the house…
Other simple touches that I love in this room include…
Wall ledges filled with our favorite baby books & a sweet felt ball garland.
Fun & bright modern artwork to bring personality into the nursery.
A whimsical changing pad placed next to a basket full of hair bows for little Avery.
The most gorgeous dresser with beautiful baskets for toy storage.
And every room must have books. Lots and lots of books.
I am so happy with how the nursery turned out & look forward to watching our littlest one grow up in this special room of her own. I hope you enjoyed a little peek into our little girl nursery!
