We have some big fans of LEGO play in our house. With two boys, ages six and seven, there are LEGO toys out pretty much at all times of the day. There are LEGO bricks on the counter. And LEGO bricks on the coffee table. And LEGO bricks on their bedroom desks. You will find them everywhere! As much as the big brothers love LEGO play, so does our little girl as well. She may not be ready for the little LEGO bricks, but she is a huge fan of the LEGO DUPLOS. It’s a great toy for her that encourages play and inspires imagination.
The LEGO DUPLO sets are wonderful for toddlers and preschoolers because they are designed for children, ages 1 1/2-5. The DUPLO bricks are twice the size of standard LEGO bricks, making them a safe and easy way for young kids to build. The bricks come in bright colors & are easy to assemble and disassemble. The directions are super easy to follow with the great pictures for directions. Abby, at age 3 1/2, can follow the steps with minimal help. She loves searching for the pieces and gets so excited when she completes each step all on her own.
As much as we love to follow the set of directions to build the set, Abby also loves to build her own creations. It could be a simple tower or one of Abby’s favorites is making a house for her other toys! With LEGO DUPLOS, your child can build whatever they want and it’s a great toy to inspire creativity. LEGO DUPLOS also encourage independence. It’s a great toy to play together, but also a great toy to have for “quiet time”. LEGO DUPLOS are a great learning resource for parents because you can use the LEGO bricks to work on colors, sorting and classifying, counting, and so much more.
Last, LEGO DUPLO sets encourage imagination and playing together as a family. Not only does she love the LEGO DUPLO sets, but our whole family enjoys playing with them as well. As soon as big brother arrived home from school off the bus, he was quick to jump in and join the LEGO DUPLO fun. The kids’ imagination went crazy as they created a whole construction site in our living room, complete with their own dump truck and tower crane. Like most kids this age, Abby loves to be playing with mommy & daddy. This is a great toy that we can enjoy with her. We love to help her create stories for her LEGO DUPLO sets and watch her imagination run wild. She loves to make up names for the mini-figures & create little adventures with her LEGO DUPLO sets.
Other favorite sets of Abby include the DUPLO Doc McStuffins ambulance set and the DUPLO cafe set. Whether just learning to stack, building small structures, or role playing with mini figures, LEGO DUPLOS offers open-ended play for every stage of your child’s development. If you are looking for a toy that inspires imagination and encourages development, make sure to check out the LEGO DUPLO sets for your little one.
