My girls like picking out their own clothes. I have one that likes to have animals on everything she wears and one that goes bananas if she can find something with a rainbow on it. So when I first saw this year’s Spring line from Mini Boden, I thought maybe Maggie and Alex secretly got a job designing clothes after school. The whole line is packed with adorable animals and awesome rainbows. Plus there’s a hero and rescue theme throughout the line. Dogs with capes and cats steering a rescue boat? Sounds like any animal loving adventure seeking kid’s perfect outfit.
We were so excited by the new Mini Boden line that we got a little crafty. When our clothes arrived we turned the Boden box into a rescue boat. To make your own play rescue boat, cut the top of the box off. Cut a triangle out of the top to make the flag. Tape the flag to something (we used a spatula) and stick it in the fold of the bottom of the box. Then, sail away and on a fun adventure in your living room!
T-shirts with “super dogs” and horses with rainbow hair pair pretty well with a cape. We have quite a few capes in our house but thought we could accessorize our new outfits with some super hero wrist bands and masks. These were really easy to make. The kids had a blast making them and coming up with their “super powers”. These would be really fun to make at a birthday party.
For the masks, I got a pack of felt masks at the craft store. Then we decorated them with felt star stickers. Since Alex was transforming into “Super Rainbow Girl” she came up with the idea to cut sunshine shapes out of yellow felt to put over the eyes on the mask. They came out really cool!
For the wristbands, we started with adult size sweatbands. I found a big pack of multi colored wristbands on Amazon. Then, get sheets of stiff felt with a sticker back. Cut out designs and simply stick them onto the wristbands. You may have seen how this rainbow came to life on our Instagram Stories.
In addition to a super cool Mini Boden line, there’s really cute Baby Boden clothes this season too. Since I was pregnant with Maggie, I have been getting baby clothes and gear with whales on it. So I was quite excited when I saw all of the whales in the new Baby Boden line.
How sweet does Julie’s new little baby look in her very first Boden outfit?
