3 Fun Bubble Activities For Toddlers

June 17, 2017

One of the easiest way to entertain a toddler is with bubbles. They love watching them, popping them and trying to blow bubbles on their own. Today we’re sharing 3 fun bubble activities for toddlers. These activities are easy, fun and you probably have all of the supplies necessary to do all 3. Also, the fun with bubbles doesn’t stop when toddlers grow up. My 5 year old had just as much fun with these activities as her 2 year old brother. You’re never too old for bubbles!

3 Fun Bubble Activities

1.Bubble Painting

Supplies: bubbles, paper, food coloring

Directions: pour a small amount of bubbles into a cup. Add a few drops of food coloring to the bubbles and stir. Blow bubbles letting the bubbles land and pop on the paper. Enjoy the beautiful art you’ve created!

2. Bubble Castles

Supplies: bubbles, a cup, straws

Directions: pour a small amount of bubbles into the cup. Have the child blow bubbles using the straw in the cup. Watch as the bubbles grow taller and taller! The bubbles will form a “bubble castle” around the cup. Note: make sure your child is old enough to understand how to blow through the straw and not drink the bubbles.

3. Bubble Chef

Supplies: bubbles, bucket of water, whisk

Directions: Let your child pour a small amount of bubbles (or just soap) into the bucket of water. There won’t be any bubbles yet… then hand your little chef your kitchen whisk and they can “whip up” bubbles with it. They may need a little help to get started, but a whisk + soapy water = lots of bubbles!

If you don’t have bubbles on hand, they’re easy to make. Head to Pinterest for plenty of ideas/recipes. For 50 more free activities to do this summer, visit this post.

After you’re “bubbled out” outside, head inside for more bubble fun with the new Teletubbies Bubbles DVD. My kids love Teletubbies and watching it on tv is part of our morning routine lately. Tommy loves calling them all out by name when the show starts and his baby brother tries to follow suit. We recently brought the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD (and a few other Teletubbies DVDs) on a long road trip. They were a hit and helped the trip go by a lot faster for the kids. Since we play bubbles all summer long, we’re excited to have the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD on hand when we come in to cool down or rest.

Teletubbies are celebrating “20 Years of Big Hugs” throughout 2017. As a mom, I was thrilled to see Teletubbies come back. When I used to babysit in high school, all the kids I watched loved the show. It’s fun to watch with my own children now. The new show stays true to the original series but has cool updates to appeal to today’s “digital toddler”. For example, the Teletubbies now have touch screen tummies and fun gadgets like a “Tubby Phone smartphone”. It’s a wonderful show for toddlers with developmental benefits like listening and responding, getting along with others and more. The boys love Teletubbies and bubbles, so the Teletubbies Bubbles DVD is an obvious favorite! In the new DVD (comes out June 20) there are 6 adorable new episodes. The DVD also includes two new engaging features: getting to join the Teletubbies in singing “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” and getting a chance to learn more about the loving yellow Teletubby LaLa.
