I’ve always loved making holiday handprint and footprint crafts. I save them with my holiday decor and it’s so fun to see how they’ve grown. I have a tiny little footprint craft I made 10 years ago with Maggie and now her feet are almost my size! This fall, when Miles is home with me, I have been trying to make some special crafts with him as it’s his last year of preschool. We made an apple in September (click here) and this month we’ve made pumpkins and an extra spooky one we’ll share next week. For this month, I couldn’t decide on a hand or foot so we did both! Here’s how we made a Halloween handprint and footprint craft.

Halloween Handprint and Footprint Craft

Halloween Handprint

Paint the child’s hand with orange paint. Once dry, use markers to draw a jack-o-lantern face. We glued ours onto a pumpkin we made out of construction paper.

Halloween Footprint

Paint the child’s feet with orange paint. Make a footprint. Once dry, use markers to draw on the stem and vine/leaves.

Cute Halloween Book for Kids: B is for Boo!

I love pairing books with crafts and since I am trying to practice petter sounds with Miles we talked about how pumpkin starts with P. We read B is for Boo! Then we could go through the alphabet and talk about beginning sounds of many other fun things to see at Halloween.
