The Chirping Moms

Where To Wednesday: Bowling With Little Ones

January 22, 2014

This past weekend, Julie’s crew made the drive north to visit. We all had a great time. The kids were thrilled to see each other. On Sunday afternoon, we did a little “kid watching swap” with the dads. During the day, a bunch of dads got together to watch football & hang out in a kid free house. Then, at night, some of the moms in town went out for a girls night out. During the dads football time, we decided to take a whole group of kids bowling. It was a first for most of the kids (they were all 5 & under). It was a little hectic, but a lot of fun.

The kids wanted to bowl on their own, which made things go pretty slow. I’m not sure if you’ve ever watched a 2 year old roll a bowling ball, but it goes roll slower than paint dries. This was ok though, because it made the outing last a little longer than most toddler/preschooler activities do.

A friend recently told me about a great site: Kids Bowl Free. It’s for the summer, but I’ve book marked it to sign up when the kids get out of school. Basically, you sign up and then your kids are eligible for 2 free games a day at tons of locations. You can click on your state & view all the places you can bowl for free.

The kids had a blast and it was great to see them all playing together again. After a day of bowling with  little ones, the Moms night out was very much appreciated!
