A Fun Toy That Doubles As Holiday Decor

November 26, 2013

When I take out the Christmas decorations, my girls act like I am unloading an awesome assortment of toys they haven’t seen in a year. The entire month of December all they want to play is: snowman, Santa & Nativity. I love watching them enjoy the decorations, but also think we need some more kid friendly items. Each year, we have more broken decorations & I say I am going to find more Christmas decor they can play with. We have the Little People Nativity, which is a huge hit. We love setting it up when we read the story of Christmas. I think it helps explain what Christmas is all about, even to someone as small as Alex.

This year I was on the hunt for something new & fun to play with at the holidays. Also, something that was more of a “winter theme” that we could keep out longer. The girls went crazy for the new toy that arrived right around the time we unpacked the Christmas decor:  the Pinypon Snow Ski Lodge playset & the Pinypon Snow Adventure Car & Tow. This set is extra fun for Maggie & Alex because we have been talking a lot about ice skating as a family this winter & teaching Maggie to ski.

You can find both of these fun toys at Toys R Us. They are manufactured by Famosa, which is  a leading European toy company and doll manufacturer based in Spain.  The company has a stellar reputation as a developer of innovative, safe and high quality products that foster all around development for young children.

The set has already entertained the girls for hours & they love that this part of the holiday decor is all theirs. There are over 50 accessories in “the lodge” so it should keep them busy for a while. There’s also a lot of mixing & matching to be done with all of the little dolls, so plenty of imaginative play!

The set also comes with it’s own skating rink, that you can fill with water & freeze in the freezer. I keep telling Maggie & Alex we can do that part of the set the first time it snows. It looks like that might happen this week!
