The Chirping Moms

Guest Post: A Valentine’s Day Mantel

January 17, 2013

Hi Chirping Moms readers! I’m Kimberly and I blog over at A Night Owl, a blog about the evening antics of a working mom! I’m wife to my best friend Andre, and mother to two adorable boys, AJ and Alex. In my “spare time” you can likely find me on Instagram or Pinterest, and I enjoy crafting, photography, thrifting, parties or a quick and easy recipe. This past year I have really enjoyed sharing this aspect of my life through the blog and connecting with so many amazing people. I always love to meet new friends and would love for you to come by and introduce yourself!

I want to thank the ladies of The Chirping Moms for having me today! They asked me to share my Valentine’s Day Mantel from last year, and I was more than happy to! Here it is…

The Valentines subway art I downloaded for free from eighteen25. Isn’t that a great blog? The red hearts are a box and lid from the dollar section from Target. Love that area!
The “Love Will Find A Way” sign and XOXO blocks are also from the dollar section at Target. Then I simply framed some heart-shaped doilies (also from Target) on pink paper in a simple red frame.

I then updated a picture of my boys with hearts to fit a fancy red frame, and placed a small jar of candy hearts on the side.

I took those same doilies that I framed to create a fun garland. I glued the letters for “LOVE” to the doilies, and hung with some red and white bakers twine.

I loved how it all turned out! I’m still working on my mantel for this year, but in the meantime feel free to check out all of our Valentines Projects! We also have a fun series starting this weekend called the 14 Days of Valentines, featuring a number of great bloggers! I hope you’ll stop by say hi!
