Adding Some Extra Fun To Bedtime Stories

March 6, 2014

For as long as I can remember, each night we have the same routine: bath, 2 books & 2 stories. Each of the girls picks one book & they each get to pick what they’d like a story about. Maggie likes me to tell stories about when my brothers & I were little. Alex usually wants something to do with her & Boots (Dora’s pal) getting chased by a large animal. As much as a consistent routine is great for my kids to get right to sleep, sometimes it’s fun to add something new, like a new book or a fun new way to tell stories: enter Moulin Roty’s Les Petit Merveilles shadow puppets.

A few weeks ago, I showed the girls how to make shadow puppets with their hands. They really got a kick out of it. So, when our Moulin Roty Castle Shadows set came, I knew they would be thrilled. The first time, I used the puppets to make up a story & then the girls started to join in. We had so much fun & now have something extra special for our bedtime stories.

The Les Petit Merveilles line of Nighttime Shadow Puppets includes the Castle Shadows set we got (shown in our pictures), as well as a Paris Shadows set, a Circus set & a Dinosaur Shadows set. There’s also an adorable Nighttime Shadows Theater to play with. The sets are fairly new to the US, but have been quite popular in Europe & Asia for a while now. We’re excited that Magicforest, a company based out of NH is now selling the fun puppet sets.

We had so much fun playing with our shadow puppets at night, we’ve been using them during the day too. The girls love to put on little shows! One day we even made a theater out of a box. Here’s a video of Maggie working on one of her Castle Set shows:

You can order all of the sets listed on Amazon.

We were not compensated for this post. We did receive product for the purpose of review. As always, all opinions are my own.
