An Easy Gift Your Kids Can Make

December 10, 2013

For more holiday inspiration,  please follow our Pinterest boards for our latest pins, including all our favorite holiday ideas!

If you want to send your little one to school with a personal gift for their teacher, or melt grandma’s heart  this Christmas, I have an EASY DIY gift idea. You can win everyone over with a Fingerprint Snowman Candy Bar. I made these Maggie’s first Christmas. I was an over zealous new mom & wanted my 10 month old making crafts for the relatives. Well, 4 years later….we are still making the same gift. We don’t give it to the same people every year, but someone always gets one!

This year Maggie made the cute Fingerprint Snowmen for her teachers.

Here’s the best part about this project: you probably have most of the supplies in your house & if you don’t, you can buy them for under $5.

Supplies:

Chocolate bar: usually I get the Hershey’s chocolate bars at the grocery store

White printer paper

Black ink pad or a black washable marker

Orange ink pad or an orange washable marker

Yarn or ribbon (if you don’t have either you can also just draw on a scarf)

Tape

Markers to draw a hat or make one with construction paper.

Directions:

Use the printer paper to wrap the chocolate bar like you would wrap a gift.

Use the baby or child’s finger prints to make the black dots for the eyes & mouth of the snowman. Make orange finger prints for the nose.

Next tie the yarn or ribbon for the scarf. Last, make the snowman a hat. Maggie made these colorful hats this year.

I hope you make someone’s holiday brighter with this project!

This is a really cute idea. I am going to have to try it this year. My kid hates getting things on his hands so it might be a bit tricky. Crossing fingers
