The Chirping Moms

The Boppy Best Latch Breastfeeding Pillow & Giveaway

November 1, 2016

Boppy

It took me 4 tries to really get the hang of breastfeeding. Not 4 attempts with my first baby, but 4 breastfeeding babies. It was a lot harder to “get the hang of” than I ever imagined before having children. I have breastfeed all four of my babies, but with each there were different obstacles and plenty of formula along the way too.

Boppy

With Miles, I feel like I have finally gotten the hang of it and it’s so much easier than it has been before. I would have never thought it would have taken me almost 7 years and 4 babies to say this, but “I got it”. I think it’s really important going into breastfeeding to know that there will be obstacles and to get as much information and supplies that can assist you in the journey. I didn’t know that before my first and literally went in blind thinking she’s just latch on and it would be easy. I was very wrong.

Boppy

One thing that has helped me along the way is my Boppy pillow. I don’t know what I would have done without it. This time around, I was happy to try out their newest breastfeeding solution, the Boppy® Best Latch™ Breastfeeding Pillow.

Boppy

The Boppy Best Latch Breastfeeding Pillow was developed with a Lactation Consultant and was designed specifically for nursing moms. The pillow has two distinct feeding surfaces which lets you choose the support you need while you’re breastfeeding and bonding with your baby. There is a firm surface that features a stable platform for breastfeeding. This is really helpful with a tiny newborn. The firm surface  a contoured foam edge that helps baby turn towards mom for an easier latch and more comfortable nursing. I find that the pillow itself actually helps the latch a lot.

Boppy

The other side has a softer fiberfill and makes for a  snuggly surface as your baby grows. There’s also a removable belt that you can use to keep the pillow (and baby) snug against your body. Also important to note: it’s washable!

The Boppy Best Latch Breastfeeding Pillow is available for purchase at Babies”R”Us.com, Target.com,  BuyBuyBaby.com and Amazon.

Here’s a video that shows a little more about the Boppy Best Latch Breastfeeding Pillow:

I think the strap and buckle is the best improvement to the pillow–I wish the Boppy I used had one of those to hold it in place.

I love the buckle. It will help minimize the movement of the pillow so it isn’t always getting away from you like the others do.

The belt that keeps the pillow snug against your body is a terrific option.

I think the contoured foam edge that allows you to hold the baby closer sounds very practical.

Love the fact you can turn it over and have a softer feel and the belt is a definite plus from a safety standpoint. Hoping my daughter n law will need this soon….;)

The most helpful feature of this pillow is definitely the shape & design! It looks, and I’m sure feels, much more natural for nursing.

I loved the original Boppy pillow with my daughter, it was amazing. I didn’t know they had come out with a new one but I love that it has two different surfaces. Sometimes I struggled to get my daughter comfortable as she was growing and now that my son is out of the NICU and able to actually breast feed instead of bottle, we’re having the same problem. I would love to try this out.
