DIY Costumes: There’s a Costume in Their Closet

September 25, 2019

By: Courtney Byrne

We love a good DIY costume. One of my favorite things about quick, easy DIY costumes is you can almost always re-use the clothes after Halloween. I made a DIY super hero costume with Primary.com pajamas a couple years ago and after we were done with it, minus the cape, mask and superhero sign (added with sticky velcro!) we had pajamas to wear for years. Today we’re flip flopping the idea of re-using the costume after Halloween to finding costumes with clothes you already have.

Primary.com always share’s great “There’s a Costume in my Closet” ideas and they challenged us to try and come up with 4 costumes with the same 2 clothing items… AND that could be made in minutes. We were up to the challenge and had a blast with this DIY project.

So here’s how 1 favorite outfit became 4 costumes in minutes:

The Outfit: pink leggings, pink skirt, pink t-shirt

The DIY Costumes:

Adorable DIY Pig Costume

The pink outfit: pink leggings, pink skirt, pink t-shirt

+ a pig nose and 2 cut out pig ears glued to a headband

DIY Watermelon Costume

The pink outfit: pink leggings, pink skirt, pink t-shirt

+ pink, green & black sticky felt and a headband

DIY Pink Princess Costume

The pink outfit: pink leggings, pink skirt, pink t-shirt

+ princess accessories!

DIY Pink Flamingo Costume

The pink outfit: pink leggings, pink skirt, pink t-shirt

+ a pink feather boa, headband and orange and black stick felt

Pin these costumes for later!
