Easy DIY Summer Mason Jar Vase

July 22, 2014

I recently made centerpieces for my future sister in laws wedding shower. She had a beautiful shower at the Jersey Shore, and wanted a centerpiece that involved a mason jar, but with a summer/beach theme. The DIY project I came up with was easy and looked so pretty with blue hydrangeas. This vase would also make a great hostess gift if you are heading to someone’s beach house this summer, or just to enjoy in your own home.

Here’s how I made it:

Supplies: (click on the items listed if you’d like to order the supplies from Amazon)

Mason jar

Twine

Silver spray paint

White star fish (I was able to find white star fish at a local beach shop)

Hot glue

Directions:

Start by spray painting the mason jar. It’s best to do a few very light coats of paint and let completely dry in between. If you hold the spray paint can too close to the mason jar or spray on too much at once, it will drip and then dry that way. Once the mason jar is completely silver & dry, add the twine at the top using hot glue. Last, glue on the star fish. Now you can add flowers!
