Easy Go-To Party Favor Tags

January 21, 2020

I love planning birthday parties for my kids. Actually, I love planning all types of parties: birthdays, holidays, class parties, bbqs, etc. One reason I was excited  about getting a Cricut this year, is that I knew I could use it to make so many of the things I previously bought for parties. A good example of this is tags for favor bags. Almost every birthday party, I would order little tags to attach to the favor bags, thanking guests for coming. This is something I knew I could now make with my Cricut Explore Air 2.

You can make something similar to these tags to go with any theme. I am using the tags I just made for Miles’ birthday party as an example, as they are a pretty generic shape/colors and could really be used for any birthday party! He’s having a Power Ranger party and while we have plenty of Power Ranger decor and trinkets to include in the favor bag, I thought the stars were cute to add to the bags. I saved the design in my Cricut Design Space so now I can pull it up and quickly make it for any party. I created my tags on cardstock.

Here’s how to make Cricut easy go-to party favor tags:

Step 1: Search for the star image and filter to “free”. Select the image that has the hole at the top. Then you can easily tie it onto the bag with ribbon.

Step 2: Decide how big you want your tags and adjust the size. Then duplicate the image (I fit 4 on each page).

Step 3: Write out “Thank you!” or whatever message you’d like on your tag. Duplicate the text for however many stars you have and adjust the size of the text to fit on your stars.

Step 4: Sync the colors of the star and the text. Click “make”. Make sure you’ve set your Cricut machine to cardstock.

Step 5: Drag the text on top of each star once you’re on the preview page. Then the Cricut will cut out each star and go back and cut out the words ON each star. This will all be done at once and you will quickly have your tags ready!

Step 6: Peel off the access cardstock, then peel off your stars and all the letters should come out too.

Step 7: Attach your Cricut easy go-to party favor tags to your favor bags/boxes and have fun at the party!
