A Special St. Patrick’s Day Craft for Kids: Finger Print Rainbows

February 25, 2021

It’s no secret that I love hand print and finger print crafts for the holidays. The years speed by and it’s such a sweet way to capture their little hands at each holiday. This year I made finger print rainbows with the boys. I actually did this finger print rainbow craft with the girls years ago (and it feels like yesterday). The boys had fun with this and I even made a tiny little “pot of gold & rainbow” with Teddy’s baby fingers.

We also made one as a family. This family rainbow is a great craft to take out and display each year. It would also be a really nice craft to mail to grandparents. For this, each kid got a color (and one of them got two) and they worked together with their fingerprints to make the rainbow.

Finger Print Rainbow

Supplies: Black paper, glue, paint in various colors & white canvas or card stock

Directions: Cut out a “pot of gold” shape from the black paper & glue it on to the paper. Have the child make a rainbow using their finger prints.

The Beaufort Bonnet Company for Little Boys

The boys outfits are from The Beaufort Bonnet Company. I love festive outfits for holidays but for something like St. Patrick’s Day, I go with just some green and white so we can wear them long past the holiday. Since we are (hopefully!!!) going on Spring Break this year, I grabbed the boys these cute green gingham shorts. My boys are not big fans of polo shirts lately unless they are “so so soft” and the Beaufort Bonnet Company polos pass the boys “softness test”.

Also… if you’re thinking: “who gets their wild and crazy little boys white polos?!”. I also find that the Beaufort Bonnet polos wash really well. A good example: this crazy little leprechaun Miles had a white TBBC polo that came with us to Italy… and after a month of pasta sauce and gelato… it miraculously looked good enough to save for baby brother.

Teddy’s bubble is one of my favorite boy items yet from TBBC. You can add a shirt under it when it’s chilly or wear on the beach. If you’d like something all green for St. Patrick’s Day, this one is a cute option too. Pin this craft for later!
