Four Seasons Anguilla for Families

February 22, 2018

This past summer, we visited the most beautiful place we have ever seen with the kids: Anguilla. We had been wanting to take them to an island where they could snorkel and enjoy hours on the sand and a place that my husband and I could relax. We decided on Four Seasons Anguilla.  The island is stunning, the people are so welcoming and the resort we chose was perfect for families. Below are 10 reasons I would recommend Four Seasons Anguilla for families:

Four Seasons Anguilla for Families

1. The Beaches at Four Seasons Anguilla

The beaches in Anguilla were absolutely beautiful. My girls love the ocean and I had been wanting to take them to an island where they could see calm crystal clear water and soft sand beaches. They were both blown away by the beaches from the moment they stepped foot on the sand. It was so different than the beaches they are used to on the northeast coast and they didn’t want to leave the sand until it got dark. There is a beautiful beach right by the family pool and one of the restaurants. This is where you can rent gear (see below) and there’s plenty of fun to be had. Then there are also beaches in front of the Villas that resort guests can enjoy. They are much quieter and it’s fun to snorkel in what feel like a number of small coves (see photo). This is where our favorite lunch spot was too (Half Shell). It was neat to have two different beach spots at one resort.

2. The Pools at Four Seasons Anguilla

There were three pools at the resort and we throughly enjoyed them all! The family pool has zero entry (so key for little ones), fun floats for kids to enjoy and a beautiful view of the beach. There’s another pool in the center of the resort that was my favorite because of the cool design and layout. It was totally different than any pool my kids have ever been in and we enjoyed a lot of time there too. There’s also an amazing adults only pool. It’s up on a cliff that overlooks the ocean and the views are incredible. There’s bar service and much quieter than the family pool. This is where my husband and I would spend time while the kids where in the kids’ club.

3. Kids For All Seasons: The Kids Club

One of the reasons we chose Four Seasons Anguilla for our family vacation was because of the kids club. We have used the kids clubs at other Four Seasons properties and have always been really impressed. We wanted an island vacation where we could enjoy time as a family but also some time for my husband and I to enjoy, just the two of us. This might have been my kids favorite kids club ever. It’s a really cute, big space on the resort. There’s also a cool outdoor area for them that includes a splash area, bikes and sandboxes. They did crafts and met friends they still talk about! Also, the kids club included some amazing experiences for the kids like a rock climbing wall and tennis lessons. The kids club is complimentary for guests, so you can use it as much or as little as you want. There were a few times that we went to pick the girls up and they begged to stay longer!

4. Beach Rentals

We took a plane and a boat to get to Anguilla. I tried my best to pack light since we also had kids in tow. On the beach, my kids wanted goggles, snorkels, boogies boards etc. The Four Seasons Anguilla has all the beach gear your kids could possible want to use, free of charge. There’s no need to pack any of that from home. This was awesome because it gave all 4 of us a chance to snorkel and try beach activities.

5. The Villas at Four Seasons Anguilla

This trip, we only took the two big kids. When we return, we hope to stay in one of the Villas. They are private houses on the resort. We visited one of them and couldn’t believe the amount of space and the amenities, like a private pool, outdoor living space, a grill, full kitchen, etc. Right now the resort is offering a “5th night free” deal for both hotel rooms and the Villas which is an amazing deal. Check out details here: 5th Night Free Offer.

6. The Staff

Having a great resort staff can really make a family trip. When there is a staff that is welcoming to families and help you every way they can, you feel more comfortable being there with kids. The entire time we were at Four Seasons Anguilla from restaurants to the beach, we felt so welcome. The staff makes every attempt to ensure sure you are having a great time, they talk to the kids and make them laugh, try and help your meals go smoothly, etc. The wonderful people we met at the resort really added to the overall experience of the vacation. You got the feel that they loved their job and loved the island.

7. The Dinning Options

Four Seasons Anguilla has great dinning options for families. First, everywhere we ate had an amazing view. Everywhere we ate had great kids options and delicious food for the adults too. My husband and I enjoyed every single meal there (which is not always the case on vacation!). We also loved that the beach restaurant, Half Shell, was right on the sand, so the kids could play while we waited for our food and also while we had an extra drink or two after the meal. Lastly, everywhere had great dessert options to share as a family. At Bamboo there was a Nutella smore’s pizza that was as awesome as it sounds.

8. Open Space to Play

There’s beautiful open space at Four Seasons Anguilla. My kids never sit still, so this was key. There were was a spot we liked to sit and relax that the kids could run around, find hermit crabs and lizards and have fun.

9. Opportunities for Parents to Relax

If you are familiar with our blog, you know that the 2 kids in these vacation photos are only 50% of our kids. We left the 2 little ones home with Grammy. My husband and I went back and forth last year about a trip for just us or one with the whole family. We met in the middle and took the 2 big kids to a place where we knew we could also enjoy time just the 2 of us. We honestly found a lot of time to relax while on a vacation with 2 children, thanks to Four Seasons Anguilla. I mentioned the Kids Club above: when the kids were there, we’d spend time on the beach alone or at the adults only pool relaxing. One morning while the girls were at the kids club, I enjoyed the amazing spa. We also planned one lunch during the week, just us while the kids were at the club. One night, the resort offered a “movie night” for kids at Kids for All Seasons. The kids got to eat popcorn and watch Moana while parents could go out to dinner alone. We enjoyed a sunset, drinks and dinner at the Four Seasons, amazing Coba. There was no fee for the kids to attend and tons of kids at the resort all hung out there having a blast at movie night. It was so fun to see so many parents out at Coba enjoying a relaxing night to themselves. The kids were only away from us a few hours each day but it made for a super relaxing family vacation for us.

10. The Island

The island of Anguilla is like nowhere I have ever seen before. It’s small and their dedication to preserving the beauty shows. My girls really got the feel of being on an island and that’s what I was hoping for. The beaches and the beautiful fish we saw snorkeling made for the best island memories. There’s really a special, welcoming feel on the island of Anguilla. It makes for a great family travel destination.

If you’re looking for a truly beautiful place for a family vacation, that the kids will love and the parents can relax a bit, I would highly recommend Four Seasons Anguilla.
