Getting Ready for A Mom’s Night Out in 5 Easy Steps

May 20, 2015

A mom’s night out.  It’s very important to sanity of a stay at home mom.  There aren’t a lot of moments that you get to yourself when you stay at home with young children, so nights away are super important to fit into your schedule.  As a mom, I have found that these nights out allow me to relax, refresh, & feel more empowered to be a better mom when I allow myself to take just a few moments away from my household.  So how does a stay at home mom get ready for a night out?  With a husband that works longer hours, I am often getting ready to head out while still managing the end of the day with my kids.  So for me, getting ready to head out requires five super easy steps which can be done in less than an hour.

A Stay at Home Mom’s Guide to Getting Ready for A Night Out

Step One:  Engage your kids in a very engaging activity.  (For me, this is often a quick television show while laying in their parent’s bed!)  During this time, hop in the shower.  Clean your hair.  Shave your legs with a Schick razor.  And wash up with St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter body wash & St. Ives fresh apricot scrub.  All St. Ives products are made with 100% natural ingredients, paraben free, hypoallergenic, & dermatologist tested. (25 minutes)

Step Two:  Grab your make-up bag & head to the kids’ bathroom.  Do your make-up while they are taking a bath.  It’s multi-tasking at it’s finest.  You are getting ready for the night while they are getting ready for their night!  (15 minutes)

Step Three:  Dry your hair & blow-dry the kids hair.  As a stay at home mom, I have to admit that the hair dryer doesn’t come out often.  It’s so rare that they think it’s a fun toy when it comes out of the bathroom cabinet.  So when I dry my hair on these nights out, my kids get a turn as well.  Everyone has dry hair & happy smiles! (10 minutes)

Step Four:  Pajamas for the kids & accessories for mom.  You are almost there now.  Get your jewelry on & shoes while your kids are jumping their bedtime crazies out in their pajamas. (5 minutes)

Step Five:  This is the moment.  Daddy (or the babysitter) arrives at the door.  Give good-night kisses & run out the door as quick as possible.  Let someone else do the bedtime routine & don’t worry about it one bit! (5 minutes)  You did it.  You are free for a few  hours & ready to rock.  It’s not easy to yourself ready & out the door, but do it.  Taking some time for yourself is a gift that every mom can give herself and her family.

All St. Ives products are available at Ahold retailers, including Stop & Shop, Giant, & Martin’s.  Right now, if you buy any Shick women’s razor, disposable, or refill & any St. Ives skin care product, get a free St. Ives body wash.
