DIY Hair Bow Organization

July 10, 2012

If you have little girls, then you might be drowning in hair bows. Hopefully this week’s post will help you out. I had a few attempts at organizing & storeing bows in Maggie’s room. I had 2  problems with keeping them in a drawer or box: I could never find any of them when getting her dressed & Maggie could never let them stay in the drawer or box. I felt like numerous times a day I was picking up 25+ hair bows & clips from the floor, taking them from the baby right before she ate them, etc. I saw a few ideas on Pinterest, then accessed the supplies I already had at home & came up with this:

It’s great because it hangs on the wall, Maggie can’t pull all the bows down, I can see them all & it even looks cute in the room!

Supplies:

  • Picture Frame: I used 8 X 10. You don’t need the glass, so if you have a few in the basement that the kids broke…..perfect for this project.
  • Hot glue gun & glue
  • About 1/8 yard of fabric
  • Ribbon

Take out the inside cardboard piece in the frame and lay it in the center of the fabric. Cut it if needed & glue fabric to board. Then glue strips of ribbon about 2 inches apart onto the fabric so they wrap around onto the back of the board as well.

Then place the board back into the frame & hang. Your bows will be organized & you will have a fun new accessory for your daughter’s bedroom!

I love it! I recently made one for my daughter. They are so easy to make and look really great standing on a dresser. Great job!

I love this! Found your blog on MMM. I sooooo need to make this as my daughter's hair bows are currently all over the floor here in the house and in the car (she takes them off on trips and they never make it back into the house). Great idea!
