Halloween Projects for the Kids

September 27, 2012

For more Halloween inspiration, visit our Seasonal tab at the top of our page or follow our Pinterest boards for our latest pins!

While we were decorating for Halloween this week, the girls & I made 2 fun crafts. The first is a hanging ghost. Maggie actually sat & glued all of the cotton balls on herself & was so excited her ghost could “fly” when it dried.

Supplies:

Card stock cut into a ghost shape

Black paper

Glue

Cotton balls

hole puncher

Yarn or string

We made each ghost different: The first, I gave Maggie a bowl of glue & she dipped each cotton ball in the glue & stuck it onto the ghost. The 2nd I covered the ghost in glue & she just stuck the cotton balls all over it. Both were easy, but the 2nd way is just a little faster.

Then, cut eyes & mouth out of black paper & glue on. When it dries punch holes & hang with yarn or string.

Hand Print Spiders
The next craft I did with both girls. We made handprint spiders. I love all of the cute handprint craft ideas on Pinterest. These came out nice on canvas, but you could do them on paper too. Both girls laughed the whole time their hands “made spiders”.

Supplies:

Canvas (or paper)

Orange paint

Black paint

Craft Eyes

Ooh. I'm definitely pinning the handprint one! My daughter is only 14 months, so nothing too complicated. But I really love all handprint and footprint crafts! Will try it soon and let you know how it goes.

What a super cute idea for little ones to create a ghost bag. If you used a cotton muslin bag you could break out their craft every year. It would be cute to make them for all your doorknobs in the house. Thanks for sharing!

[…] This craft is one of our most popular posts year after year. I think t’s because it’s so easy and good for so many ages. We first made this when Maggie was 2. It was her first Halloween craft. I recently made it again with them and they still like it because they like anything “spooky”. Visit this post for details: Halloween Projects for the Kids. […]
