I finally found it. It took 7 years, but I finally found the right diaper bag for me. I’ve been carrying a diaper bag non-stop for almost 7 years. There was 1 month that Alex was diaper free before Tommy was born, but that 1 month of no diapers still meant a pull up “just in case”, spare clothes, etc. So over the past 7 years I have had many (way too many) diaper bags. I’ve used just about every one you can think of, from super “diaper bag-ish” to super fashionable and everything in between.
A few months ago I got a Lily Jade bag. I was on the hunt for something very functional as I’m back to two kids in diapers. I also wanted something fashionable. This is the first fall in a few years that I’m not pregnant/ in maternity clothes. The last time I bought non maternity fall clothes was 2013. Seems like forever ago! Fall is my favorite season and I’m excited to finally get some new fall clothes (that don’t come with an elastic waistband). So along with some more stylish fall clothes, I wanted a nice bag.
From what I had read on other blogs and seen on their site, the Lily Jade bags looked like the stylish bag I was looking for with the functionality I needed. When it arrived I was thrilled. It was even nicer than in photos and so, so functional. There are tons of compartments and the best part is the inside comes out. For me, this is key for 2 reasons: it’s easier to see what I am packing in the bag and it’s so easy to clean. They call this insert their “signature baby bag” and it’s really the best for organizing I’ve seen. All of the bags come with one as well as a changing pad.
In addition to the super convenient Baby Bag insert, there are: 2 outside pockets with magnetic closure, two side pockets and a number of inside pockets including a large leather trimmed zipper pocket and cell phone pocket.
I chose the Elizabeth in Camel. In additional to loving the style and functionality of the Lily Jade bags, I think it’s really key to have a diaper bag that you can carry in multiple ways. To be honest, when I first saw the Elizabeth style, I thought I’d use the handles and the long strap. I didn’t think I was really a “back pack” girl. But, now that I have it and have tried the back pack… it’s so helpful. There are so many times with 4 kids in tow that I really need both hands and arms totally free. I am loving the back pack style and wish I had one years ago.
I really love my new Lily Jade bag. I feel like I finally found the right diaper bag. It’s keeps everything I need for the kids organized. It holds a lot and it’s easy to clean. Most important, it’s a bag I feel stylish and confident carrying. I give up plenty in my daily life as a mom (like frequent showers) so having a bag that I really like is a nice treat.
Dads: A Lily Jade diaper bag would make a really fantastic gift this holiday season!
