The Chirping Moms

Two Favorite Jalapeño Dip Appetizers

October 5, 2012

My husband lives for his college football and although I can’t get myself to sit still long enough to watch a whole game, with some delicious dips, wings, and other tailgate appetizers, count me in!  Today, I am sharing two of my favorite recipes that use JALAPENOS!  I just harvested the last vegetables from my garden and I have plenty of these to go around and am pulling out the best of the best recipes to use with my hand-grown peppers.

Both of these recipes are favorites in our house and many friends have requested them as well so I thought they would be perfect to share with you.  So EASY (perfect for all of you busy mamas out there), yet so delicious…

Firecracker Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages of cream cheese
  • 1 can of corn kernels (drained)
  • 1 can of sliced black olives (drained)
  • 1-2 red peppers (although last time I made it I used a green pepper from our garden and it turned out delish!)
  • 3 Sliced Jalapeños
  • 1 Large Packet of Ranch Dressing Mix
Directions:
1.  Mix the cream cheese and ranch dressing together.
2.  Stir the corn, olives, peppers, and jalapeños together.
3.  Combine everything in one bowl.
4.  Serve with tortilla chips!

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 can sliced jalapeños, drained
  • 2 jalapeños, chopped
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions:
1.  Mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, and jalapeños in a bowl.  Pour into baking dish.
2.  Mix bread crumbs and another 1/4 cup of parmesan together.  Sprinkle on top of the dip.
3.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for around 20 minutes, until sides are bubbling and the top has turned golden brown.
4.  Serve with chips or baguette.

Thank you for these-can't wait to try them out. Ever since I was pregnant with my little Bean I have LOVED spicy food. Weird, I know, but I still can't get enough of it!
