Gift Guide: Gifts for Kids that Love Animals

December 10, 2018

Today I’m sharing a gift guide for kids that love animals. If your kids Christmas list includes mostly live animals and you’re looking for non-living gifts they might like instead, this guide is for you. My daughter has a dog, reptile, hamster and fish on her list. Aside from (possibly) a fish, we will not be adding any more pets anytime soon. Our dog is her best pal so many of the items are dog themed gifts. Also to note: she is 8 and I would say most of these gifts are geared towards ages 6-10. I hope these gifts for kids that love animals help make an animal lover in your house smile this season!

My first suggestion is to adopt an animal. You can adopt one at your local zoo and many other places. Then they have a “new pet” and the animal doesn’t ever move into your house. Plus, if they’re an animal lover, they might really like to hear the ways that you adopting them helps them. We’ve had whales, groundhogs and more. While Santa can’t deliver live animals to our house, he can bring animals adopted via the World Wildlife Fund and there are so many to choose from. Plus an adoption there includes a stuffed animal, photo of your newly adopted friend, species cards and more. Details here.

Here’s my list of other gifts for kids that love animals:

10 Gifts for Kids that Love Animals

1. An Anthology of Intriguing Animals: this book is beautiful to look at and interesting to read!

2. First Dogs: American Presidents and Their Best Friends : history and dogs all in one book 🙂

3. Dazzling Dogs Coloring Book: I found this and the 2 books above at Indigo. It’s seriously my favorite new store!

4. Festive dog banner: this banner comes in “non Christmas” version too! (photo above!)

5. Bella Bliss Dog Sweater (don’t forget you can use Bella Bliss coupon code chirping20 for 20% off)

6. Eeboo Vet Pretend Play Set: this is so cool, good for all age but also as a “bigger kid” version of some of the vet sets we’ve had in the past. I can’t wait to give this gift!

7. American Girl dogs and accessories: so many cute options, but this service dog set was a hit under our tree last year

8. Juliet Nearly a Vet Book Series

9. Schleich Animals: no matter how old my daughter gets, these are on her list every year. Best animal figurines ever.

10. Mini Boden Shoes, Slippers and Shirt: cutest animal options I’ve seen! Be sure to search the girls and boys options
