Make Your Own Rainbow Pizza Dinner

April 7, 2016

If you ask my kids what their favorite meal is, they would say pizza!  We eat pizza fairly often in our house, so I am always looking for a fun new twist to one of our favorite meals.  Today, I am sharing a pizza that is great for springtime, the rainbow pizza.
Now that my kids are getting older, I love having a few extra helpful hands in the kitchen.  Making pizza is one of their favorite dinners to help prepare & I love watching my little chefs at work.  To make the rainbow pizza, all you need is a store bought crust, pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, & a rainbow of toppings.  We went with pepperoni (my kids’ favorite) & a variety of peppers. To start, you lay the store bought crust out flat.  Cut out a portion at the bottom and around the edges to make a rainbow shape.  Use the dough to help form the crust & make the rainbow shape smooth as shown below.
Next, the kids can add the pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, & the toppings.  Use the toppings to create a rainbow.  This is a great way to get your kids to try vegetables that they may not eat as often!
Now, it’s all ready to put into the oven.
Bake at 425 for about 15-20 minutes & then it’s time to eat a piece of the rainbow!
We finished off our dinner with some rainbow chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches.  All you do is get some Rainbow Chips Ahoy (or something similiar).  Put ice cream in between two cookies.  Roll the ice cream sandwich in sprinkles & you have a special rainbow dessert!
This fun meal was inspired by the new Ciao Italia! collection from Tea Collection.   Twice a year, Tea Collection packs their bags and heads to explore a new destination.  They go in search for their collections which are all globally inspired styles to help encourage kids to discover and celebrate the world around them.  Aiden and Andrew are wearing the Naples Pizza Pie shirts, inspired from the home to modern day pizza.  And when in Italy, you can’t pass up the gelato.  The delicious Italian gelato was a bit hit for Tea Collection’s designers & inspired the adorable shirt that Abby is wearing!
Make sure to check out the Ciao Italia! collection from Tea Collection as well as other great finds for springtime.  We hope this post inspires you to celebrate spring with your own rainbow pizza & ice cream celebration!
