The Complete Guide to Holiday Gifts for Girls

December 7, 2015

Tonight we’re sharing our top picks for girls’ holiday gifts. I came up with the list after thinking about the best gifts my girls have received and what their wishing for this year. I have two little girls – one is 4 and the other is almost 6. This guide is geared towards gifts for ages 4-6. Head to the bottom of the post for links to our other gift guides (babies, toddlers, boys, etc).

While both of my girls like to wear dresses every day and play dolls, one is much more of a “girly girl”. For her, everything must be sparkly, twirly and have to do with a princess. My other daughter loves animals and wants to be a vet. She loves learning about new animals, playing animal rescue, setting up jungles, etc. So in addition to a “top 10” list of gifts this year, I added in some gift ideas specific to girls’ interests. Don’t forget to check out our girls stocking stuffer ideas and plenty of great places to shop for clothes and shoes. It’s so much fun to pick out gifts for little girls. Hopefully this guide helps you shop this season!

Top 10

1. Tutu Du Monde

Perfect gift for girls to enjoy for a party dress,  dress up, or whenever they feel like being fancy!

2. Plamobil

My girls play with Playmobils for hours. This year we’re adding the Ferris Wheel with Lights and a few preschool sets to our collection. Another great holiday choice for Playmobil fans are all of the wonderful Christmas sets. We added the Playmobil Nativity to our Christmas decorations this year and the girls love it.

3. I See Me

These are my favorite personalized gifts. They have wonderful books for girls, where your little girl becomes a part of the story (picture of them and all). This year my girls are getting Sweet Dreams, Fairy and the Personalized Princess books.

4. Lundby

We’ve tried quite a few dollhouses and these are our favorite. There are just so many awesome accessories to add to the houses, including adorable holiday decor. My girls will play with their Lundby house and accessories for hours together. You can find the house and tons of accessories on Amazon.

5. Corolle

Corolle are our favorite dolls and accessories. They are well made, beautiful and even smell great. They have different sizes based on the child’s age. Their doll strollers, beds and baby carriers are great and come at a good price. You can also find Corolle dolls on Amazon.

6. Green Toys

If you’re looking for play kitchen items and tea sets for girls, I think the top sets are Green Toys. Plus you know they are made in the USA and from recycled materials.

7. American Girl Twins

My girls go crazy over every single thing they look at in the American Girl catalog. I was browsing through and found a great set for girls that are in between the Bitty Baby and the American Girl Dolls: the Bitty Baby Twins! My girls love doing dolls hair, so they’ll have plenty to brush with the twin’s pigtails. We can also use all of the Bitty Baby clothes we already have because they fit the twins. You can select the pair you want: 2 girls, a girl and a boy, etc. Then you can customize each doll too. So with 2 little girls in our house, I lucked out with getting this set. I made one look like Maggie and one look like Alex. I can’t wait until they see them. Plus, they keep saying “I hope you are having twins mom”. I am just having 1 baby in January, so here’s their chance to have twins!

8. Geomag & Marble Run

My girls love building and this year I’ve chosen the Geomag Color Variety Set and a Marble Run. They love magnetic tile building and Geomag includes magnetic rods and metal spheres for more building! There’s also an awesome “glitter” version. With Marble Run I was looking for some gifts to keep the girls busy this winter when cold days + a newborn in the family will mean a lot of indoor play. I’ve heard great things about Marble Run for this age group.

9. Lego

This is the first year my girls are showing interest in Lego. There are so many neat sets for girls. There are the Lego Friends sets and also other really cool sets for girls like the Lego Fairy Naida’s Spa Secret that includes a purple dolphin!

10. Books

Books always make great gift for girls ages 4-6. A few favorites right now: The Book With No Pictures,  Ladybug Girl and the Best Playdate Ever, and The Little House on the Prairie books and book set. Alex is getting the Disney Princess: A Magical Pop-Up World for Christmas. I looked through it several times before wrapping it and just can’t wait for her to see it. It’s beautiful and so colorful. It really brings the stories to life!
