Travel: The New Trip Boards from Vrbo

April 9, 2019

By: Courtney Byrne

This post is sponsored by Vrbo. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you know me well, you know one of my favorite things to do is browse Vrbo for vacation homes around the world. I’m not a huge TV fan but like relaxing on the couch while my husband watches tv. So while he catches up on Netflix, I work on planning all our vacations through about 2099. Thankfully my hobby doesn’t go unnoticed and I have some friends & family that enjoy looking at vacation homes around the globe and enjoy getting my crazy texts with house links saying “let’s go here”!

Vrbo Trip Boards

My love of vacation home browsing and trip planning just got better with the new Vrbo Trip Boards. You can create boards, share them and NOW you and your travel partners can “like” different houses on the board and even comment on individual houses. Another feature I like is that you can add lots of favorite houses and then update your dates and very easily see which houses on the board are available those dates.

We tried to plan a ski house vacation with friends last winter and it never happened. With these new boards and board features it will make it so much easier. We can add a bunch of houses and even as we change dates, we can easily see which ones are available when. They all of the families involved can “like” their favorites and comment on them. I can’t wait to plan!

Summer Planning with Vrbo

But first up: Summer plans! I’d like to return to Maine at some point this summer, so I’m sharing my Maine board as an example. You can click here to view the board if you’d like! I’ve been chatting with friends and getting recommendations of all different towns in Maine.

I’m also adding houses back in Kennebunkport where we’ve been. We rented this Vrbo in Kennebunkport 2 years ago and it was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. We rented a historic home right in the center of town. I added it to my Vrbo Trip Board just in case we decide to head back to a house we know we love.

I’ve found beach front homes, cabins and even a Vrbo house that’s on a farm with animals my kids can help care for! I can’t wait to see the comments my husband adds when I send him the board.

You can access all of the trip board features from your desktop and the Vrbo app. The app is super handy to have when traveling because you can communicate with the host on the go and get checkin details. I am not a big “app person” but of the couple apps I use: Vrbo is one of them. It’s a must for travel.

The New Way to Say Vrbo

We’ve used and trusted Vrbo for years now: from local travel to international. It’s cool to watch it change, grow and add things like the new features for trip boards. Speaking of changes: did you know that there’s a new way to say Vrbo? While they used to call it V-R-B-O it’s now pronounced ver-boh! It’s funny because so many people I know were already pronouncing it that way and it’s cool to see the company officially embracing it.
