Where To Wednesday: The Perfect Theater For Kids

March 27, 2014

Last year I wanted to take Maggie to a show for her birthday. We were heading into New York City for a “girls weekend” and I thought taking her to her first show would be a lot of fun. We ended up at the Vital Theatre Company for Fancy Nancy and it was perfect! You can read more about that adventure in this post.

This year, when her birthday grew near, Maggie started asking if we could see another show. She loved Fancy Nancy and the whole show experience from the Vital Theatre Company. I saw that this year Pinkalicious was playing around her birthday and I was thrilled. The Pinkalicious books are Maggie’s favorite. Maggie was all set for the show, in head to toe PINK!

Once again, were so impressed with the show. The Vital Theatre Company’s shows are perfect for kids. A few things that make it a special experience for a young audience:

– The stories. It makes it a lot easier for a 3 or 4 year old to sit through a show when they have an idea who the characters are

– The length of the show

– Great music

– The size of the theater. There are truly no bad seats!

– Meeting the cast: After the show, the children get to line up, meet the cast and get autographs. Both times we’ve seen shows the Vital Theatre Company, this part was a lot of fun for Maggie.

The Vital Theatre Company is dedicated to producing entertaining and educational theatre for young audiences. It’s located on New York City’s Upper West Side at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre. The company commissions three to five new musicals for children each season.

Right now, the company’s newest show has started: PEACE, LOVE, AND CUPCAKES

THE MUSICAL. This show looks awesome and i’m hoping to take Maggie and Alex to see it in the coming months. For more information on the shows and tickets, visit the Vital Theatre website.

We were not compensated for this post. We did receive tickets to Pinkalicious for the purpose of review. As always, all opinions are my own.

SO fun, Courtney!! These are special memories she'll have forever! My mom bought us season tickets to our local theater for Christmas one year (I was probably 6 or 7) and I still remember how much fun we had!
