Where to Wednesday: A Restful Night in New York City

December 17, 2015

A restful night in New York City with 3 kids under 6 doesn’t sound very realistic. Even a hotel stay with that many kids doesn’t typically sound like anyone’s dream come true. But thanks to all the special sleep amenities at The Benjamin Hotel, we truly, 100% had a very restful night in a hotel in New York City with all of our children. To top things off, I’m pregnant and not sleeping great and they even were able to help me sleep better!

Here’s how:

The Rest and Renew Program

The Rest and Renew Program at The Benjamin was amazing. I have never seen anything like this at a hotel before. The hotel worked with with sleep expert Rebecca Robbins, to present all new sleep solutions to their guests. All of the offerings are anchored in the latest research in sleep medicine. The offerings include pillow selections, Power Naps, and bedtime snacks. You can also request sleep masks, earplugs and white noise machines. The pillow selections were our favorite part. We got to “order” off a pillow menu. There were even pillows the kids could pick. For a pregnant lady staying at a hotel, being able to order a body pillow was a dream! We tried out many of the pillows and they really make a difference.

The Benjamin Winks’ Kidzzz Program

My kids are still talking about the special things they received at The Benjamin Hotel thanks to the Winks’ Kidzzz Club. The “club” is a complimentary children’s program aimed at helping the youngest guests focus on the importance of sleep. The hotel gives all  kids ages 2 to 10 a child-sized pillow and bathrobe, great family bedtime books to read and an official Winks’ Kidzzz Club Sleep Certificate at check-out. You can also purchase a cute Winks the Owl doll. I was impressed with the selection of books and the whole program made my kids feel special and that is was “cool” to go to bed on time at the hotel.

The Perfect Family Room

The hotel room at The Benjamin was set up perfectly for a family. We had a large bedroom with plenty of room for a crib for Tommy. In the living room area, the pull out couch was comfy and perfect for Maggie and Alex. Plus there was a mini kitchen which makes all the difference when traveling with little kids and a baby that still takes a bottle. Having room for everyone to spread out and sleep really helped make the stay more relaxing.

A Wonderful Breakfast

After our restful night, we woke up and had a delicious breakfast right in the room. It’s always a treat when you can eat great food without getting the kids all dressed and out the door. This was the prefect way to end our stay at The Benjamin.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay with your family in New York City this holiday season, be sure to check out The Benjamin Hotel. Not only will you sleep well, you’ll also be in the perfect part of the city for seeing so many of the best city sights.
