Wonderful Toys: Land of Nod Review & Giveaway

December 5, 2012

Our week of holiday giveaways continues with my favorite place for kids toys this holiday season: The Land of Nod. The Land of Nod has wonderful furniture & decor for any kid’s space your creating, but many people don’t realize what a fantastic selection of toys they have as well.

Maggie sat with the Land of Nod catalog for days (each day telling me she was wishing for something different). Their toys are colorful, imaginative & you can find fun ideas for kids of all ages.

Be sure to check out the giveaway they are offering at the end of the post!

Santa will be putting these toys under the tree for our little ones this Christmas:

Maggie is getting this adorable pastel tool box & tools. She keeps saying she wants tools for Christmas & I thought this set made by Green Toys was awesome.

Alex’s favorite thing lately: any ball she can find. I love this playground ball. The globe & animals on it make it a fun toy to grow with them. It’s the perfect size too. There is also another playground ball offered by The Land of Nod with the solar system on it.

Both of my girls love music. We don’t have many instruments at home & I feel like we are always making other things into them. This Christmas I thought it would be fun to get a few new noise makers in the house! Alex is getting rhythm sticks in her stocking & Maggie is getting a triangle. Under the tree will be this beautiful accordion. I took it out of the box to see how easy it will be for them to use. It’s easy to use & sounds really nice. I played for quite a while!
Last, but not least, is a special gift for both girls: Fold & Go Barn. Maggie & Alex love animals. Their favorite thing to do is to go to the farm near my parents house & feed the animals. They will both sit & listen to any book about animals & alex has just started making animal sounds (she’s got the cow & sheep down!). This barn opens up & comes with a bunch of animals. Then when playtime is over, you can fold it up with all of the animals inside. You can see more pictures of the barn & animals on The Land of Nod’s site. I can’t wait for the girls to get this gift!
I’m so happy with all of the toys from The Land of Nod. They are all great quality & I think the selection on their site is very carefully picked. The brands of toys sold are some of our favorite’s & it’s nice to have them all in one place. Be sure to take some time to browse! Right now all toys & games ship for $4.95.

I relive my childhood now that I am a parent, seriously!  I went through the Land of Nod catalog and circled all the awesome presents that would be amazing for my children (and secretly wished that I had for myself twenty five years ago).  Not only that, but I love their holiday decorations so I may have hinted to my husband for a few goodies that would be perfect to throw under the tree for me!

You have to see what Santa will be bringing to my house full of boys, thanks to the awesome store of Land of Nod!!!!

Aiden, my almost four year old, will be receiving his a set of Make the Connection toy set, the classic toy that has been around for ages.  He is just starting to get into creating things with his hands so hopefully he enjoys this toy as much as children have for so many years.  Also, Santa will be bringing him a Build Your Own City Blocks Set.  Aiden is really into creating towns either on his train table or his road map rug for all his cars.  I thought this would a fun gift for our household so he can use the blocks for real buildings, signs, and even vehicles.  It encourages imagination and hopefully will keep my sons occupied in their own “city worlds”!  And check out this awesome Don’t Let the Blocks Drop game.  My son is just starting to get into games and I have to admit, I can only play Candy Land so many times.  In this game, the children stack it up, roll the dice, and pull blocks out one by one without knocking the tower off.  It looks like a game that will last through the years, a great new addition for our game cupboard.

Santa is bringing my vehicle loving sweet boy, thanks to Land of Nod, the awesome 25 piece jumbo puzzle pictured above!  My boys love to assemble puzzles and I thought this sturdy, cheerful puzzle would be the perfect addition to our collection.  Andrew will also be receiving the Stocked Cupboard Play Set.  We have a wonderful play kitchen that the boys received a couple years ago thanks to Grandma and Grandpa!  But most of the food in it came from an after clearance Target find of plastic food.  We desperately need some play food that is durable,  realistic, and “cute”!  What a perfect addition to our kitchen collection.  Last, I may or may not be thanking Santa for this gift after the holidays, but I LOVE the Plan Toys wooden drum and  I think that the boys will have a blast drumming all day long!

The Land of Nod has a great selection of toys for kids of all ages!  The toys in their shop are durable, promote creativity and imagination, and would be wonderful additions to any household.  I also love how the Land of Nod website organizes their toys into sections, including Stocking Stuffers, Transportation, Playhomes & Tents, and SO much more.  The Land of Nod also features great gift guides for shoppers who are looking for some extra guidance.  Remember that all toys & games ship for $4.95 so make sure to head over there and get some shopping done!

And now for the giveaway! The Land of Nod will award one lucky reader with a $75 gift card! Good luck everyone & happy holiday shopping.

Wow! Lovely toys and educational too. I think my favorite is the barn. It allows for lots of make-believe play-time and keeps all the animals organized "under one roof" when finished too. 🙂 I think I'd love that shop if we lived in the States.
