It’s November and time to think about the cold months ahead. It’s time to look through the kids winter gear and see what you’ll need to “gear up” for this year. We’ve tried a lot of winter boots. There are a few problems I have had with kids’ winter boots over the years: they are hard to get on and very bulky to pack for travel. Another issue is that there’s no “in between” boot for all of the “in between” snow days of winter. You know what I mean moms: the days where the kids want to run, climb and jump around on the playground, but there’s still snow on the ground. Theres not enough snow that you need all the snowsuits and gear, but enough that their sneakers will be soaked.

This winter = all of the boot problems are solved thanks to the Snoot. Besides being a really fun word to say, the Snoot is the perfect boot for active kids. The Snoot is the Stride Rite Made2Play® Sneaker Boot. It’s part sneaker and part boot! The bottom of the Snoot is a sneaker which means great traction for running and playing. The top part is a warm and cozy snow boot.
It’s really lightweight and flexible which means easy to pack up and take with you for travel. The Snoot is water-resistant and also machine washable. I’ve already had to wash a pair (after a very muddy cold morning) and they washed really well.
Another very key feature of the Snoot: EASY ON. Even on Tommy’s super duper wide (think chubby square shaped feet) they are easy to get on. Then they STAY ON because of the velcro strap to tighten them. Alex has super duper narrow feet (think nothing stays on her feet but sneakers) and thanks to the strap, they tighten and fit her like her sneakers.
They can be worn tall like a boot or folder down. I think this looks cute but is also great for school. Instead of changing shoes on wet, snowy days, they can just fold them down when they get in the classroom and have a sneaker.
This brings me back to the “in between days” of winter. The Snoot is perfect for the days I mentioned above: the days where the kids want to run, climb and jump around on the playground, but there’s still snow on the ground. While the Snoot is a great boot for the snow, it’s also a sneaker and perfect for running, climbing and playing. We’ve been using our Snoots on cold and wet mornings lately. They stay on a lot better than a rain boot and keep their feet warm and dry.
When the relatives start asking what the kids need for the holidays: the Snoot would make an excellent gift!
If we had weather that ever dropped below freezing, we would totally get these! Or maybe we can just plan a snow skiing trip with the littles! Pinning this for future reference. 😉
I had never heard of this before. Cool idea!
How fun are these?!
