Puppy Love Craft: Adorable Valentine’s Day Activity for Kids

January 8, 2026

Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to spread love and joy, and what better way to celebrate than with an adorable puppy dog-themed craft! Today I’m sharing our Puppy Love craft, an adorable Valentine’s Day activity for kids. What’s better than a sweet puppy craft for Valentine’s Day? Puppy pajamas to match! Ready for all the fun?

With just a few basic supplies and a whole lot of love, let’s get started on creating these cute and cuddly companions! I made a sample and then let Teddy get to work making puppies. He had so much fun we made quite a few. For a video tutorial visit the Reel we made on Instagram here: Puppy Love Craft Reel

Puppy Love Craft

Supplies:

  • Construction paper (brown, white, black, pink, purple, red or any colors you have)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Heart-shaped stickers or cut-outs

Directions:

Step 1: Cutting Out the Shapes

Begin by cutting out the shapes needed to create your puppy dog Valentine. Cut out two large hearts from construction paper. For sizing: they should be the size of the construction paper. Then for the heart shaped eyes, we use a heart hole puncher. This is a fun activity for little kids. If you don’t have a heart hole punch, just cut out small hearts or use heart stickers.

Step 2: Assembling the Puppy

Once all your shapes are cut out, it’s time to assemble your puppy! Take one of the big hearts and cut it in half. These are the 2 ears. Glue them onto the other big heart. Glue on 2 small hearts for the eyes and add some googly eyes (or draw eyes with markers or crayons) in the middle of the hearts.

Step 3: Adding Details

Use a black marker or crayon to draw a mouth/nose. You can also use markers or crayons to draw spots or patterns on the puppy’s body for added flair. This is another spot to add some cute little heart stickers, gems, etc. Get creative and make each puppy unique!

Step 4: Personalize and Share the Love

Now that your puppy dog Valentine is complete, it’s time to personalize it with a special message or decoration. Use markers or crayons to write a heartfelt message on the front of the card, or add some heart-shaped stickers or cut-outs for a pop of color.

Step 6: Spread the Puppy Love

Once your puppy dog Valentines are finished, it’s time to spread the love! Hand them out to friends, family members, classmates, or anyone else who could use a little extra love and cheer on Valentine’s Day. These adorable handmade cards are sure to bring smiles to everyone who receives them, making them the perfect way to celebrate the holiday with those you care about most. Teddy made one for each person in our family, teachers and some to decorate the house. We have heart puppies everywhere!

Now for the adorable puppy pajamas….

Beaufort Bonnet Company Holiday Night Nights

The Beaufort Bonnet Company always has the sweetest and softest pajamas. They put out new prints for different seasons and special prints at the holidays. They’ve been my go-to for many years at Christmas and this year spotted this darling print right before Valentine’s Day. It’s called Pen Pal Puppies and couldn’t match this craft any better! Go take a peek at what they have for Easter and Springtime too.

Beaufort Bonnet Company also had a big stuffed puppy for my dog lover. In addition to cute clothes, they always have the best accessories and gifts.

Right not there’s a whole section on Easter Baskets with some of the cutest baskets and fillers around. From Valentine’s Day to Easter to birthdays, The Beaufort Bonnet Company will always be a favorite here.
