12 Christmas Crafts for Kids to Make This Week

It’s the week of Christmas & we are sharing some fun and easy Christmas crafts for kids to try this week!  These make cute decor and nice gifts for children to give family and friends. Also, some are easy enough that you could put out supplies and let the kids keep busy while you get some holiday wrapping or cooking done! Happy Holiday Crafting!

Christmas Playdough
There are two different recipes:
Christmas Spice Playdough:  Mix 1 cup of water, 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil, 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup salt, 1 tbsp of cream of tarter, 1 tsp of cloves, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, & 1/2 tsp of nutmeg in a medium sauce pan.  Stir the mixture over medium heat until it comes together, about 3-4 minutes.  Once it turns into a ball shape, turn off the heat and let the dough cool to use.
 
Peppermint Playdough:  Mix 1 cup of water, 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil, 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup salt, and 1 tbsp of cream of tarter in a medium sauce pan.  Stir the mixture over medium heat until it comes together, about 3-4 minutes.  Once it starts to come together, add peppermint essential oil drops until you get the desired scent.  Once it turns into a ball shape, turn off the heat and let the dough cool to use.

Santa Handprint Craft
Directions:  Paint paper plate green.  Let dry.  Using white paint, cover the middle of the hand and the  four fingers white.  Then, cover the bottom of the hand & the thumb with red paint.  Stamp onto the plate.  Add a white pom-pom on hat using white paint.  Add goggle eyes & draw on nose and mouth.

Pom Pom Joy Craft
Directions: Print out JOY in big letters.  Cut out letters.  Glue the JOY letters onto red paper.  Glue pom-poms onto JOY.

  Handprint Christmas Tree Craft

Q-Tip Painted Christmas Lights
Directions:  Print out Christmas light template (found here).  Cut out lights.  Use a Q-Tip to paint the lights.  Let dry & glue onto paper with some string.

Pom Pom Jingle Ball Ornament

Reindeer Food
Directions:  In a jar, mix a little bit of flour, lots of oats, & magic glitter to help the reindeer fly.  Save for Christmas Eve and sprinkle on yard.

Washi Tape Ornament
Directions:  Buy a small flat ornament.  Add washi tape to decorate.

Directions:  Cut out a wreath from a paper plate.  Add holiday bows & hang.
