Finger Print Wreath: The Best Sibling Holiday Craft to Gift

December 10, 2020

Every year I try and make a sibling handprint or footprint craft. We’ve made a wreath of handprints, Santa’s reindeer with footprints and many more over the years. This year, I was trying to think of a handprint or footprint craft but fitting 5 hands or feet into one project isn’t easy! I was also trying to think of something we could make for grandparents. Then I came up with a project that could fill both “crafting needs”: a fingerprint wreath.

Making a finger print wreath is a fun project for one child to make and also the perfect sibling craft because they can easily all work together to create one beautiful piece of art. This is a hard Christmas for many families, knowing they can’t be together. So many grandparents can’t travel to see their grandchildren or for health precautions can’t be with them. Sending a handmade gift like this to grandparents (or aunts, cousins, etc) is something that really shows the children are thinking of them.

Another reason I like the fingerprint wreath craft for siblings is that you can make it all different sizes. This was not the case when I tried to fit 8 feet on one canvas to make Santa’s reindeer out of feet! We made one big one that we’ll hang in our house and a few smaller ones that will be easier to mail to family.

You could even make these into cards to mail grandparents. For that, just use a folded piece of cardstock instead of the canvas.

Here’s how we made our fingerprint wreath:

Fingerprint Wreath Craft

Supplies:

  1. Green paint: I like doing 2-3 shades of green
  2. A canvas or cardstock
  3. Red ribbon
  4. Pencil, scissors, glue

Directions: Draw a very faint wreath shape on the canvas. Have the children take turns making green finger prints to fill in the shape. Once dry, glue on a red ribbon bow.

Beaufort Bonnet Company Night Nights

I snapped photos of the kids making the craft that I thought would be fun to include with the gift to family. In our photos the kids are wearing our favorite holiday pajamas: Night Nights from The Beaufort Bonnet Company. We’ve been getting Beaufort Bonnet Night Nights for Christmas for years now and love the sweet prints they come out with.

This is the first year I got the button down style for the boys. They’re so soft and we’ll use the solid read all winter. I love that you can get the Beaufort Bonnet prints from infant sizes all the way up to big kids. This is great for family photos: siblings and/or cousins.

If you haven’t gotten your Night Nights yet this year, order soon. The Beautfort Bonnet Company does offer 2day and overnight shipping on their site too. So, there’s still time to shop for your holiday pajamas or for gifts.
