5 Easy 4th of July Breakfast Ideas

July 3, 2014

When you think of food for 4th of July celebrations, you usually think of items you’d bring to a BBQ. There’s also plenty of ways you can make dessert patriotic. One meal we tend to skip out on festive foods for the 4th is at breakfast. Our family is all together the morning of the 4th of July, so I thought it would be fun to come up with some patriotic ways to start the day!

1. Red, White & Blue Parfait
Ingredients: Yogurt, granola, strawberries & blueberries
2. Flag Toast
Ingredients: toast, cream cheese, strawberries & blueberries in flag shape
3. Refreshing Patriotic Juice
Ingredients: Cranberry juice, club soda, ice, frozen blueberries (star paper straws for fun!)
4. Star Spangled Fruit Salad
Ingredients: Blueberries, strawberries, red grapes, watermelon in star shape (use small star cookie cutter)
5. Star shaped pancakes
How to: use a metal star shaped cookie cutter. Place cookie cutter on pan & our batter into the center of the star
Another way we’re making our 4th of July meals a little more festive, is with the Confetti Spirit Nested Bowls from Zak Designs. They are bright red, white & blue and durable for outdoor entertaining. I use these bowls for mixing, prepping and serving. My kids love them, because they can “help out” since the bowls won’t break and they think the confetti pattern looks like the bowl “has sprinkles on it”! The bowls are BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and, like all Zak Confetti products, they’re made with recycled melamine. Enjoy the 4th of July with your family!
