5 Easy Tips to Tackle Laundry in the Summer

June 17, 2014

Summer means lots of time outdoors.  Playing in the mud.  Eating popsicles and ice cream cones.  Rolling in the grass.  The never-ending sand from beaches and sandboxes.  And with all of that comes some extra dirty clothes.  With my mom friends, laundry is always a hot topic.  What is your “laundry strategy”?  Today, we are sharing some easy “Summer Laundry” tips to help you get tackling all that laundry this summer.

1.  Pre-Treat as soon as possible.  Nothing is worse than a chocolate ice cream stain.  As soon as my kids have something that is stained.  The clothes come off.  I immediately throw it in the washing machine.  Add some cold water and a scoop of Oxi-Clean.  Leave in there until you do your next load.

2.  Designate a day to not do laundry.  No matter how much laundry is piled up, I refuse to do laundry on Saturdays.  It’s my “OFF” day & it just makes me look forward to knowing that there is no way I will be doing laundry that day.

3.  Try out the new product from Clorox, the Smart Seek bleach.  With Clorox Smart Seek Bleach, whites with some color can get thrown in your regular whites load and come out sparkling clean.  Clorox Smart Seek bleach whitens solid white and white garments with some color by leveraging a unique technology to deliver just enough power to remove stains and whiten the white parts of the garment, yet is color safe on most prints, patterns, and trims on white garments (when used as directed).

4.  While traveling, designate one suitcase for dirty clothes or pack an extra bag just for this reason.  It makes it so much easier to just pop dirty clothes into one bag while on vacation and when you get home just dump the entire contents of the bag into the washing machine while everything left in the suitcase is still clean and be put back into dressers.

5.  Throw a load in first thing in the morning.  During the summer days, you are busy and on the go.  While my kids are eating breakfast, I just throw the laundry in the house.  Before we head out and about in the morning, I move the clothes to the dryer.  It all is washed and dried before noon (and before the heat of the day!).

Happy Laundry Day (Isn’t almost everyday a laundry day when you are a mom?!?!)

Right now I'm doing good. I only have one load left, but tonight there will be two and tomorrow three. Laundry is something you've got to keep you up on. I just need to make myself put a load in at the beginning of the day. I just have to make myself do it.

Hey, It is an Interesting topic to discuss for women. As a house wife, I used to do laundry at my home. However, I am thinking to join a job and within a job, I couldn't manage the both sides of work load that is why I will choose laundry service.
