5 Ways to Thank Those That Host This Holiday Season {Hostess Gift Guide}

November 22, 2015

The best part of the holiday season is spending more time with family and friends. From family dinners to a neighborhood cookie exchange, it’s so nice to have fun, festive events to attend. I like to bring a little something special to thank those that host at the holidays. Below are 5 ideas for hostess gifts this season:

1.) DIY Hostess Gift: Baker’s Mason Jar

Supplies: mason jar, dish towel, holiday colored kitchen utensils, ribbon and small card. I found really cute holiday spatulas at Target to add in!

Directions: Tie ribbon around the mason jar and attach the small card. Fill the jar with the utensils and dish towel. This is an especially fun gift if you’re going to a holiday cookie party!

Optional: Spray paint the mason jar gold, silver or red first

2.) Shutterfly Home Gifts

I recently ordered a number of items from Shutterfly’s “home decor” section and I am really impressed. The quality is fantastic and they always have such great coupon codes (like right now everything is 40% off). Usually when I think Shutterfly, I think photo gifts, but now they have so many art/ design patterns that do not include photos. Of course if you do have a photo to add, that’s a nice touch too! A few of my favorites as hostess gifts:

catch all trays // serving tray // candles

3.) Festive DIY Gifts

Sometimes the best way to show someone you are glad they are hosting you at the holidays is with a homemade gift. We have a post with 4 great DIY gifts. The plates could be made with the family’s last name to make it really personal! Click here for all 4 gift ideas.

4.)   Crown Linen Designs

Crown Linen Designs truly has your traditional hostess gifts.  They are gorgeous embroidered linens that make perfect holiday gifts. Some of their line that would be great for a hostess: wine bags, napkins, hand towels, table squares and table runners. They are beautiful, well made and would be a special addition to the hostess’ home. Price range $15.95 & up // website

5.) Raw Spice Bar

This is a fun gift that keeps on giving! The Raw Spice Bar Spice of the Month program is only $6 a month. You can decide how long you want to send it (the 6 month is just $36). It’s awesome because each month you get 3 packs of custom spices with recipes. So it’s like giving a hostess 3 tasty meals a month! Here’s how it works: you receive a box with 3 freshly ground spice blends in packets plus kitchen-tested recipes. I’ve tried a few packets now and they are easy and delicious.

Happy gift giving!
