Baby Curtains!

August 3, 2012

Don’t you just love decorating nurseries?  Today, we are loving Kelly’s Korner Show us Your Life post parties, and this week is all about window treatments!  To stay with our “baby week” theme, we thought we would share our window treatments in our babies’ rooms!

COURTNEY:

These curtains were made for our nursery when I was pregnant with Maggie. We didn’t know we were having a girl, so we made a neutral nursery. I wanted to do “whales” & found these adorable curtain tie backs on Etsy. My mother-in-law made the curtains to match the little whales. We love these – they are still in Maggie’s room now!

JULIE:

Here are the curtains that I have in Aiden’s room!  When we moved into our house, he was 21 months old and we tried to create a more big-boy room for him than his nursery at our previous house.  Being in my third trimester and moving to a new town where I didn’t know a single soul, I knew I had to make something really simple as I didn’t have a lot of time or extra hands to do all the things that we needed to do after moving in!  So I created these no-sew ribbon curtains to match his decor in Aiden’s room and they work just perfectly in his room:)

When I was pregnant with Aiden, I found the “Zoo” pattern  by Dwell Studio on 75% clearance at Target—and I snatched it right up because I just loved it:) The curtains were long panels, but I really wanted to make cute little valances so I could have a lot of natural light in our room.  So my super-smart sewing mom created two of these out of the one curtain…aren’t they adorable (and all for a small price of three dollars total)?  I ended up reusing them for Andrew and match perfectly to our baby blue walls!

Hope you enjoyed our “Baby Week” window treatments and check back soon to see our FAVORITE baby products!!!!!

I love it! I'm trying to create a nursery now that a) I can accomplish being 35 weeks preggo and b) doesn't make big brother feel displaced when he comes to visit. It's a conundrum.
