Friday Favorites: Our “BABY” Favorites

August 3, 2012

For our Friday Favorites on Baby Week, we wanted to share just a few of our favorite baby products with you!
Newborn Snowsuit
Both of my boys were “winter” babies and I was SO thankful for these awesome little zip-up fleece snowsuits!  They keep them warm and cozy without the bulkiness of a little coat.  It was perfect for Andrew when we took short little walks with our dogs and quick trips to the park with Aiden.  If you are having a winter baby, I think is a definite “MUST”!  Here are some of my favorites that I found while browing through Amazon (Click here for my boy’s pick or here for my girl’s pick!)
The “Magical” Seahorse
This little  Soothe and Glow Seahorse, created by Fisher Price, was really a miracle for my not so good sleeper Aiden!  This lulled him to sleep all the way through his two’s—so was it worth the money??  ABSOLUTELY!!!  This is often one of my “go-to” gifts for new moms!
Sound Machine
I may regret this decision in fifteen years when my boys still won’t be able to sleep without sound machines, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our sound machine.  We have the  HoMedics Soundspa Lullaby and it is perfect for us.  Just so you know, we live in an old house—like around 90 years old.  And with that comes a upstairs that consists of some close quarters and some creaky wooden floors.  These sound machines are great as it allows us to move around while the little ones sleep without having to worry about waking them up.  And if one of them cries, the other doesn’t hear—awesome!  I always bring these when we travel as I think it helps my boys transition to a new room a little smoother.  One day I may have to kick our sound machine habit, but not for awhile if you ask me.
Starr Designs Personalized Wipes Case
Look at these ADORABLE wipes cases—SOOO cute, right?!  Courtney, the designer behind these wipes cases, creates these in her shop Starr Designs.  As I was browsing through her shop, I just knew that I had to have one of these Cubs cases for the boys and I knew my husband would be excited about this baby product.  Cute, right?  And look at this sweet case that she created for Courtney’s diaper bag.  Today is your lucky day, Starr Designs is giving away one wipes case, as well as offer a 10 percent discount (with coupon code:  CHIRPING) for the next two weeks.  You must go check out her shop and snag one of these cute things right up!     The winner is: Holly Gaydos!
Tea Collection
Tea Collection is my favorite for babies because
it is soft, washes very well & you can buy “sets”. I love the sets because
if baby makes a mess of just the shirt or just the pants you don’t have to put
a whole new outfit together. Anything I have ever had from Tea Collection for
Maggie still looks like new for Alex to wear.
The Miracle Blanket
The reason this is my favorite is all in the
name: it’s a blanket that helps babies sleep SO well it’s a miracle. Both of my
girls slept through the night (at least 6 hour stretches) by 3 weeks with the  Miracle Blanket. I give
all the credit to the blanket and my next favorite product:
Fisher Price Rock and Play
Like many babies, Maggie would not
sleep lying flat on her back. Someone suggested putting books under the
bassinet mattress which did not help. She was sleeping the whole first week in a bouncy seat or her carseat. We were at the store & spotted the Rock and Play. For the price, we figured “why not try it?”. Maggie loved it. She
slept in it until she could roll over. It’s also super light weight & folds in half, so it’s great to carry around the house or travel with. Alex loved it
too & as far as baby gear goes, this is my absolute favorite. It is not
nearly as pretty as the white bassinet with pretty sheets I had picked out
originally BUT if the baby sleeps in, pretty goes out the window!
Hot Crafted Etsy Products
This Etsy shop has some great baby essentials.
Their pacifier clips are the best I have seen. They have the plastic inside the
metal clip so it won’t damage your little one’s clothes. There are adorable patterns to choose from. Sippy cup leashes are great for a stroller ride!
Also, Hot Crafted has hair clips that are cute & sturdy. Also, for the size (big cheerful
flowers) they actually stay in a baby’s hair so well. Hot Crafted has offered to award
one reader with either a pacifier clip OR a hair bow of their choice! They are also offering our reader 20% off with code: CHIRPCOUPON
The winner is: Linda Trinklein!

Also, I don't think we could have survived those first months without our SwaddleMe blanket and our sound machine! (Guess I could have combined these comments…sorry!) 🙂

I have that same sound machine, and it's great. I travel with it too because I figure it will remind my daughter of home. I love the projector part of it as well.

The rock n play is actually linked to plagiocephaly and torticolis, actually high enough rates that it may be in for a recall at some point. I would also check under the cover to see if mold has grown, it is a common issue with the product. I do not normally comment on products, because everyone likes different things but we almost bought this and then my pediatrician told me to go home and research it. He said that he had seen several children with issues whose parents use the product and he did some research. He said that if we did use it then use it for only 20 min at a time. After researching it, I was shocked that this product still is in stores.
