Baby’s First Christmas Gift Guide

Baby’s First Christmas Gift Guide: 2018 Version!

My son just turned 1 so although this is his second Christmas, it’s the first one that I think (and hope!) he’ll be excited about.  He is a ball of energy bouncing from one thing to the next all day long so over the past few months we have been on the hunt for toys that keep him entertained for extended periods of time.  These are a few of our favorites plus some other practical things which always make good gifts. Hope you enjoy Christmas shopping for your little one as much as I did!

  1. Little Tikes Activity Garden

Of all the play gyms my son has played with, this one keep him entertained for the longest plus also somewhat contained because he likes to sit inside of it.  There are so many things on this for little ones to play with and with openings on 2 sides it makes it easy for them to get in and out which seems to be entertaining in and of itself.  One more plus is it opens up flat making it easy for storage against a wall, behind a couch, etc.

  1. Teams Kids Little Chef Modern Play Kitchen

A high quality, very stylish play kitchen!  A great gift for both genders that they can grow with. Right now my son who is 1 loves to simply open and close the cabinets and turn the clicking oven knobs meanwhile his slightly older friends and cousins love using their imagination to “cook”.

Warning – this comes unassembled with many parts and took a while to put it together. A gift for yourself might be asking for this from the grandparents after they assemble it!

  1. Petite Plume Pajamas

These are the most adorable, classic pajamas!  They are high quality and come in many different colors, patterns and styles.  They are perfect for coordinated family pajamas (kids & adults) and can be monogrammed many different ways.  I can’t wait for Christmas morning in these!

  1. GUND Flappy the Elephant

There’s good reason this elephant has become so popular lately and it’s not just because Khloe Kardashian posted about it.  Flappy plays peek-a-boo and signs “Do your ears hang low?” and no matter how many times Tyler plays with it he is dancing along, laughing and smiling.

  1. Duplo Compatible Play Table

I played with this table when I was a child and now 30 years later my son loves it too!  It’s so convenient with the built-in mesh storage bag and when not playing with Duplos it quickly becomes a regular table for any other activities.

  1.  Cece Dupraz Seersucker Duffle & Zipper Pouch

Someone gave my son this duffle bag & zipper pouch when he was born and I think it’s the most practical and most used gift we received.  It’s the perfect size to fit everything he needs for a weekend away. The website offers such cute, creative monograms and motifs to make your gift more personal.  The website has tons of other cute gifts for little ones too!

  1. LeapFrog Learn and Groove Musical Activity Table

My son has played with this table everyday for months and has yet to get bored by it.  It starts out on the floor and once baby is standing up you can add the legs to make it a table.

  1. Baby’s 1st Christmas Ornament

We decorated our tree this weekend and my favorite part was pulling out all of Tyler’s 1st Christmas ornaments, especially the photo ones.

  1. Widgeon Warmplus Fleece Jacket

This is my favorite and easiest jacket for winter because of the simple Velcro closure.  Another major plus is that I was told it’s safe to wear in a car seat.

  1.  Books

I don’t think a child can ever have enough books!  Plus books always make a nice gift especially with a message written on the sleeve.  I still love reading the notes from family and friends in my books from when I was a child.  We have been reading a lot of Christmas books lately and right now these are our favorite.
