Celebrating Spring At Duane Reade & How To Fill An Easter Basket For $10

March 17, 2014

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

Spring is in the air. The temperature hit 60 this weekend and it was great to see so many people outdoors. Kids flocked to the playground and I finally felt like spring was around the corner. Two things I’m ready for: spring cleaning and Easter. For both, Duane Reade has you covered. #DRSpringTime #CollectiveBias

I’m a huge fan of their private label cleaning supplies. A lot of the extra cleaning products I buy for “spring cleaning” are the type I use just once or twice a year. So rather than spend a ton of money on them, I grab the private label. They work wonderfully for a lot less money.

When I went on my trip to Duane Reade for cleaning supplies, I was quickly distracted by the bright, cheery Easter aisle. I’ve been stuck in “freezing cold winter mode” and haven’t gotten anything for Easter yet. Duane Reade had an awesome selection and the prices were great. So, I set out to grab some items for the kids Easter baskets. I am planning to get a book or art supplies from the Easter Bunny this year, but my kids sure love candy.

I decided to set a $10 per kid budget and make some Easter baskets! I was impressed with what I got for just about $20 ($10 each kid). I didn’t go over my budget and the baskets look great. I was even able to grab some of my favorite private label: don’t worry,  not cleaning products  for the baskets, but private label jelly beans! Next time I’ll get back to spring cleaning mode, but for now, at least we’re ready for the Easter Bunny. In addition to candy, Duane Reade always has cute Disney products, like the bubbles I found for $1.99. I also grabbed each of the girls a giant egg filled with tattoos for $1.99.

Here’s how our $10 Easter baskets came out:

Another adorable Easter item that caught my eye in the store: “Share A Pair” stuffed animals. They slipper sizes were all too big for my little girls, but these would make a great Easter gift. It’s so fun that your slippers can match your new Easter pal.

Duane Reade has everything you need to get ready for spring; from cleaning supplies to plastic eggs. You can keep up with Duane Reade and their spring items, by searching #DRSpringTime

Those Easter baskets are so cute, and I love the idea of doing the $10 budget. That's what I need to do too! #client
