Design Your Own Kids’ Clothes (& Giveaway)

July 21, 2015

Today, we are excited to share about a fun kids’ online clothing company called The Patchery.  The Patchery is different than other kids’ clothing companies because YOU do the designing or in our case, we let the kids design their own clothes!  The kids literally got on The Patchery website, picked their own item to style, & chose the fabrics to create it.  We waited a few weeks and voila, their own fashion awesomeness landed in our mailbox where their own design came to life on their new clothes.
The Patchery was founded by Amber Gunn Thomas & she co-owns the business with her tech-genius husband, Ryan Thomas.  Everything is made (cut and sewn) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  All of their sewers work out of their homes on their schedule, which is perfect for busy moms (and grandmas) trying to juggle it all.  All products are made-to-order in a 3-4 week turnaround.  Customers can return the product within 30 days of the shipping date.  All clothes are priced reasonably, ranging in price from $20-$50, with free shipping included. They also donate $5 for every product sold to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, in honor of their daughter’s best friend that passed away this past February.
To start your experience, you pick out your product on The Patchery website.  For girls, you have the option of several different types of dresses, skirts, rompers, leggings, or shorts.  Maggie chose to design the Pleats & Pockets dress that includes hidden pockets for her collection of trinkets that she likes to carry around!  There are also some great shirt options, including tank tops, ball park tees, & more.  Aiden chose the color block short sleeve tee, both simple and stylish.  You mix and match from a wide variety of fabric options that are grouped together in mini collections making it easier to pick fabrics that coordinate with one another. Aiden chose the the bold and fresh patterns from the Starlight Lodge collection to create his shirt.  He decided that the main part of the shirt had to be blue, his favorite color.  Then, he picked other fabrics in the Starlight Lodge collection to mix and match to create his very own tee!
We love this fun website where kids not only get to pick what they want to wear, but get to help design!  It’s a fun experience to watch your child’s creativity & personality come out in the clothes that they helped design.  Make sure to check out The Patchery for all of their wonderful options.  It would be a great website to check out for a few special back to school outfits or to create some fun new items for this fall!  We are excited to announce that one reader will win one free product of choice.  Enter below for a chance to win!

Thank you so much for the introduction to and the review of The Patchery. What a very unique way to choose your child's clothing. It can become a family time event. A great way to let your child use their imagination and develop fashion sense.
