If your family is as crazy for Disney as we are, you’ll know that you start saving for your next Disney vacation as soon as you get back home!  For years, I’ve had a Disney Vacation Savings Jar (specifically, an old Mickey coffee can I picked up in WDW years ago). My daughter, Kate, wanted her own (a Disney vacation is a great chore motivator!) so we made one out of supplies we already had in the house!

Disney Vacation Savings Jar

Vacation Jar Supplies

  • Red coffee container
  • 2 Styrofoam Balls
  • Black paint
  • Black glitter
  • Yellow felt or paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How-To Make your Disney Vacation Savings Jar

Paint the two Styrofoam balls.  You can let dry and use glue to glitter them up, but I sprinkled the glitter right on the wet paint and voila! Saved myself a step!

Cut two small ovals out of your yellow felt/paper and glue onto the center of the coffee container.

You can cut a small slit into the coffee can lid or you can just take the lid on and off when you are adding to your savings stash.

When the black paint & glitter on the balls are completely dry, glue them onto the lid.

Happy saving!
