They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky, The Addams Family! Today i’m sharing our DIY Addams Family costumes for kids. I think this might be my favorite group costume yet. A couple years ago we did Mickey & Pals and last year Cruella & Dalmations.. this year the Addams Family! We have Wednesday, Pugsley, Cousin It and baby Pubert. In a few of the photos you might even spot Thing! That’s right, the kids were having so much fun with this costume that Dad wanted to join in too. The funniest part for me was editing photos where I actually wanted photos with no one smiling ha!
These costumes were SO easy to make. All of the supplies were from Primary.com plus a few things we had around the house. I’d say once you get the supplies, you can whip these up in under 30 min. Here’s how I made each costume with links right to the items ordered:
DIY Addams Family Costumes
DIY Wednesday Addams Costume
For this I used:
Just layer the dress over the peter pan shirt and you have a Wednesday Addams dress! Don’t forget the braids and serious face!
DIY Pugsley Addams Costume
I used black electrical tape on a white shirt because it’s easy and the tape comes right off to use the shirt after Halloween. Plus the wide stripes the tape created looks very “Addams Family”.
DIY Baby Pubert Addams Costume
For this costume, I simply used Primary’s solid grey pajamas. They are the exact same color Pubert wore in Addams Family Values! Makes for an easy costume. Then of course we drew on the mustache to complete the costume.
DIY Cousin It Costume
Ok this was a fun one to make!!
You want to order 1 pair of brown Primary pajama pants (lined above) in their size to wear. The other 2-3 pairs should be in size 12 (their largest size). Cut the 2 size large pants into strips – basically cut along all the seams. You should have 8 long strips. Pin the strips of brown fabric to the hood of the hoodie. Then cut each strip in half again, but not all the way to the top – stop a few inches from the top so they stay pinned to the hoodie. Then Top with the hat & sunglasses and your Cousin It is ready! Tell your child to make sure there’s a gap in the strips when walking around so they don’t trip!
