Easy Valentine’s Day Craft for Kids: Paper Plate Valentine Bear

February 7, 2020

Valentine’s Day crafts are our favorite and so are animals. I was trying to think of an animal themed Valentine craft this year and then spotted a greeting card that said  “I Love Your Bear-y Much”. I thought it was so cute and decided a Valentine Bear craft for kids was in order for this year. We had fun making this paper plate Valentine bear and I am heading into Tommy’s class (pre-k) to make a craft and he loved this one so much that we just might be making this with the whole class.

This craft is easy and fun but all the glueing with tissue paper can get a bit messy. Depending on the age of the age of the crafters, you can either just share the sample and all the supplies and let them get to work (bigger kids) or pre-cut the ears, nose and tissue squares to they are mostly doing assembling and glueing (little kids).

Supplies:

  1. White paper plate
  2. Pink tissue paper
  3. Heart stickers
  4. Pink and red construction paper
  5. Google Eyes
  6. Black marker
  7. Glue

Directions:

Start by cutting lots of squares out of tissue paper. Cut a red circle (snout) and 2 pink semi circles (ears). Cover the paper plate with glue and let the child stick the tissue paper all over the plate. Glue the ears to the back of the plate and glue on the red snout. Stick a heart sticker in the middle of the snout for the nose and draw the mouth with the black marker. Glue on the google eyes and stick a heart sticker on each ear. You can finish the project by adding a little card that says “I Love You Bear-y Much”
