The Chirping Moms

An Exciting Moms Night Out in New York City

October 6, 2016

Parent’s Magazine recently surveyed over 2,000 moms around the country. The theme was balance. Balance is something I struggle with so much as a parent. I find it hard to balance taking care of the house and still finding time for a social life. I find it hard to balance the needs of the baby and toddler while still making time for activities and homework for the bigger kids. As hard as parenting is, according to the survey, 63% of moms do feel that balance is achievable. Also, while 97% of moms said they feel “guilty” about something as a parent, 72% said the way they feel more balanced is when they make time for themselves.

Last week in New York City, Parents magazine, Momtrends and some awesome brands hosted a Mom’s Night Out. I was in desperate need of a night out, so the invite came at the perfect time! The theme was to carve out some “me time” for moms by finding ways to save time and create balance.

It was great to mingle with other moms, enjoy some bubbly and beautiful views of the city. It was also great to visit the activities the different brands had set up. Crafts and hands on projects are a way I like to unwind, so having them at a moms night out was extra fun for me. Here are some more details of the night:

Earth’s Best

The team from Earth’s Best was on hand serving their line of frozen snacks. Their food is perfect for saving time after school, at dinner time and even when making lunches. Their frozen fruit cups thaw out in time for lunch and even come with a spoon. For 30 years, parents have trusted Earth’s Best to provide organic nutrition for their babies.  Now Earth’s Best is taking those same wholesome ingredients and offering nourishing meals for older kids.

Glad
Glad was featuring their trash bags with Febreze and had a fun craft where you could make your own body lotion and pick your scent! Only Glad with Febreze neutralizes odors for up to 5 days – guaranteed.

Clorox
You can prepare for the upcoming cold and flu season by stocking up Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. They kill 99.9% of germs including viruses that cause colds and flu. At the event, you could decorate your own container of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. For someone that likes crafts and hates germs, this was a fun activity!

Philips Avent
Philips Avent is the #1 reusable bottle brand and pacifier brand in the US. They work hard to help give babies a healthy start in life for a healthy future. They were at the event showing how to create a really fast, adorable baby gift using their items.

Quaker
I always hear about and see Overnight Oats on Pinterest but never knew just how easy they were. Overnight Oats are such a quick, easy, delicious, breakfast and then save time in the morning because breakfast is already done. You just use: 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup oats, top with your favorite ingredients, refrigerate overnight, and enjoy in the morning!
