Extra Special School Outfits {& Giveaway}

September 25, 2014

Now that the weather has changed, we’re finally starting to use our “back to school” fall clothes. Both girls like to wear dresses to school, but they are both active little kids. Our school clothes are primarily comfortable dresses and leggings. In addition to being active at school, they both paint a lot, so they need clothes that can get messy too! Kids need comfy play clothes for school, but it’s also nice to have a few extra special outfits for the season, for “big days” at school. For these outfits, my favorite are from Bella Bliss. I love traditional, classic school clothes. Bella Bliss always has a wonderful selection and their clothes are made to last. Also, while they look nice, classic and typically dressier than “play clothes”, they are still very comfortable. Their corduroy is the softest we’ve found.

So, at the beginning of the season, I like to get a nice Bella Bliss outfit for each of the girls to wear for special school days:

– First day of school

– School Pictures

– Family events at school

– Thanksgiving performance

– Holiday events at school

These are all special days at school and also days that we’ll be taking lots of pictures. I also love monogrammed clothes for the kids. With 2 kids and 1 on the way, monogramming everything isn’t very practical for hand me downs. Everything Maggie wore to school last year, Alex is wearing this year. But, I like to monogram their “extra special” Bella Bliss outfits. I think the way the Bella Bliss dresses are cut, they fit longer than many dresses we have. Maggie has a red monogrammed corduroy Bella Bliss dress that currently fits her for the 4th year in a row. It has a tie back, and the first Christmas she wore it (at almost 2), I hemmed the bottom. I’ve since let the hem out and she’s worn it every Christmas since. I don’t mind monogramming their Bella Bliss dresses, knowing they’ll fit for a while. We also love their soft pima shirts and cozy sweaters for layering with dresses and skirts.

Now for Bella Bliss boys clothes:

Julie’s boys like Bella Bliss pants, because they are super comfortable with elastic waist. They look really nice, but still have elastic waist, which is key for preschool aged children.  Julie likes how you can easily layer the outfits from Bella Bliss. She chose a shirt that has a fire truck for Andrew (his favorite) so it is easy to get him to wear it. Then she got a matching sweater to throw on top for pictures.  Andrew doesn’t mind getting dressed for special occasions when he knows he can take the sweater off to show his fire truck when done!

Julie also really likes the button down shirts from Bella Bliss. They are made well and are great for layering with pull-overs. Aiden likes to dress just like daddy, so this outfit was a hit.

Julie and I have both been enjoying Bella Bliss for a few years now. For a “throw back Thursday” post, click here to see how little Maggie and Aiden looked the first time we posted about Bella Bliss!
