Fall has arrived this week! Today we are sharing some simple fall craft ideas for the kids:
SIMPLE FALL CRAFT IDEAS FOR KIDS
Candy Corn Craft: Draw a candy corn shape on black paper. Cut or tear small bits of white, orange, & yellow construction paper. Glue bits to make a paper candy corn.
(Easy activity for young children & great activity for children practicing scissors & glue skills!)
Cheerio Apple Tree Craft: Cut out a tree with construction paper & glue onto white paper. Have child paint Cheerios red. Let dry. Glue the cheerios onto the tree.
Apple Stamp Placemats: Cut an apple in half horizontally. Stamp in red paint onto white paper. Let dry. Have child add stem and leaf with crayons. To make it into a placemat, laminate & use during the fall season!
Cinnamon Apple Pie Playdough: Mix 1 cup of water, 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil, 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup salt, 1 tbsp of cream of tarter, 1 tsp of apple pie spice, 1 tsp of cinnamon in a medium sauce pan. Stir the mixture over medium heat until it comes together, about 3-4 minutes. While stirring, add in red food coloring until you get your desired color. Once it turns into a ball shape, turn off the heat and let the dough cool to use.
Easy DIY Bird Feeder for Kids: This is a great way to use up old bagels! Slather cream cheese on a bagel. Dip in a bowl of bird seed. Tie to tree with ribbon or yarn.
Dot Paint Trees: Cut out a tree trunk & glue to white paper. Child will use dot paints to add leaves. (Easy enough for young toddlers to do!)
Leaf Wreath: Head out on a leaf hunt to get leaves. Cut out the middle part of the paper plate. Have child glue the leaves to the plate to make the wreath.
Paper Plate Apple Craft: Cut out pieces of red paper. Glue onto the paper plate. Add stem and leaves with construction paper.
(Another craft that is great for practicing scissor and glue skills!)
Pumpkin Stamp Banner: Grab an old toilet paper roll. Bend to make a pumpkin shape. Tape the top so it stays in this shape. Dip in orange paint and stamp onto a roll of white paper. Let dry. Fill in pumpkins with orange paint. Let dry. Use thumbprints to make stem with green paint. Let dry. Cut out pennant size triangles. Laminate and cut out. Hot glue onto ribbon and hang!
For this craft, just let the child paint abstractly. Then you can cut their abstract art into a shape (pumpkin above) or cut a stencil shape and frame their abstract art (apple above).
