The Chirping Moms

Fall Fashion Favorites for Girls

September 26, 2013

School is underway & it’s finally getting chilly enough for fall clothes.

Fall clothes for girls are so much fun. There’s lots of opportunity for mixing & matching, layering & accessories. These are my top picks for little girls this fall:

J. Crew Cardigan // Target Polka Dot Shirt // Polarn O. Pyret Heart Dress // J. Crew Navy Peplum Tee

J. Crew Leggings // Olivia & Owen Jumper // Polarn O. Pyret Tights // Carter’s Skirt

Stride Rite Boots // La La Lola Flower Crown // Target Gold Ballet Flats // Happy Chance Tee

My favorite store for my own clothes is J. Crew. I can’t help but love their mini version. The clothes are well made, great for mix & match & they are really comfortable for kids. We are lucky enough to have Crewcuts outlet nearby, but you can also shop J.Crew Factory online for some great deals.

Olivia & Owen is a favorite brand in our house. It’s classic & beautifully made. This little navy jumper reminds me of school uniforms growing up. Their clothes are great because you can really dress them up or down. Their floral blouse looks pretty under the jumper or with leggings for a trip to the park.

Polarn O. Pyret has an awesome line for fall & winter: bright colors & fun patterns. Their tights are my favorite & by far the best quality we’ve found (& we have a lot of tights in our house!).  Be sure to enter our big group giveaway for a chance to win $250 to shop Polarn O. Pyret.

This year, Stride Rite celebrates their 95th birthday. Along with it, they launched a Medallion Collection. The styles in the collection, including these boots, really shows off some of Stride Rite’s best.

I do a lot of shopping on Etsy. I like supporting the shops & I enjoy reading the shop owner’s “story”. It’s a good feeling to know where your kids’ clothes/accessories are coming from. Two of my current favorites:

Happy Chance Apparel – This shop has awesome tees for the whole family. Maggie asks daily if we can go “to the city”. We go quite a bit, but I guess not enough. Recently when I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she said “I want to be a driver, so I can drive my own car into the city”. SO, when I saw this Happy Chance shirt, I though it was perfect.

La La Lola –   My girls are all about flowers & crowns lately. We had one that got A LOT of use this summer (& was the subject of a lot of fights over whose turn it was to wear it). I set out to search for some flower crowns for fall. I found La La Lola & love everything we’ve gotten. They are handmade by a mom of 4.

Target & Carter’s both have great kids’ lines this fall. It made me a little sad to shop the “big kids” section of both stores for Maggie for the first time, but it’s kind of fun that she fits in both the toddler & girls sizes this season: double the selection!

A few of Maggie’s other fall favorites: knee socks, cowboy boots (found at consignment shop), her stuffed cat & learning how to hula hoop.

I was not compensated for this post. I have received samples from a few of the companies mentioned. As always, all opinions are my own.
