Fall Play Clothes for Girls With Easy DIY Headbands & Bows

September 25, 2015

We had some chilly mornings this week and it was time to add sweaters and leggings to the girls’ school outfits. Maggie and Alex prefer skirts and dresses, but also prefer non stop climbing, running, jumping and digging in dirt. Finding the right play clothes for fall is key because they wear them to school, where I prefer them to look like they are dressed nicely and then wear them all afternoon at the park and in the yard.

I like finding cute play clothes that are high quality and will hold up to lots of dirt and play. Then, of course, they have to meet the girls’ two requirements: comfortable and “fancy”. They consider anything that’s a dress, skirt or the color pink to be “fancy” and like all clothes to feel “super duper soft”.

Tea Collection checks off all our “musts” for fall play clothes. I’ve shopped Tea for years now and everything we’ve gotten has held up to tons of play. They wash so well and the colors stay vibrant and looking nice for school and outings. I love how you can mix and match so many of the styles and that the leggings pair so well with the fun patterned dresses. We have tried a lot of leggings and always go back to Tea Collection for the comfort, colors that don’t fade and quality.

This season we even found some cute ways for the girls to coordinate with Tea Collection styles.

The girls never stop moving and I’m glad we found some cute fall styles that look nice but let them be  the active kids they want to be!

To go along with our awesome fall play clothes, we spent an afternoon making some Halloween hair accessories. We made cute headbands and hair clips. These were so easy, we decided we are going to make some for friends too.

All I did was order some plain headbands from Amazon. Then I got an assortment of felt Halloween pieces and bows from an Etsy shop, Asec Inc. Those supplies plus some craft glue and the girls made their own hair accessories. They came out great and they were excited to help!

Happy Fall!
