Easter Activities for the Family

April 7, 2017

Family Time: something we love so much, but we never seem to get enough of. I feel like the older the kids get, the harder it is to spend time all together. There’s school, naps, Dad working late and busy weekends. I’m committed to finding time for our family to be together enjoying each other’s company. I think that’s why I love travel so much. Even thought it’s crazy and not even slightly relaxing, there’s something special about time away from the every day chaos, just being together.

Holidays should be about family time but often the business and events around the holiday can make it seem just as chaotic as every other day (or worse!). One way we carve out family time around holidays is with fun little crafts and activities. Even though I feel like there’s “no time for that”, my kids love doing crafts and love using them to decorate the house. Our favorite Easter activity (like most families) is dying Easter eggs. Tommy joined in for the 1st time this year and loved every messy minute of it. The boys favorite food is hard boiled eggs, so we figured this is a family activity we can do a few times this year since none of the eggs will go to waste. Another fun craft we did for some family time: Easter Bunny Juice Boxes. These were fun, easy and will double as decor for our Easter table and the drink for the kids. We used the small Juicy Juice Boxes. The girls picked out Fruit Punch because they pink box matched the bunny noses.

Easter Bunny Juice Boxes

Supplies: Juicy Juice juice boxes, white paper, pink paper (or pink crayon), glue, tape & pence. Optional: pink pompoms and google eyes.

How To:

Start with a juice box and white paper. Cut the paper in strips just a little longer than the juice box. Wrap it around the juice box an secure with tape. Cut bunny ears out of white paper. Glue pink paper inside the ear or let the kids color in the center of the ear with pink crayon.  Next tape or glue the ears to the back of the juice box.

My kids like glueing, so I gave them google eyes and pink pompom noses for the face, but you could definitely simply the craft and just draw on the face. Last they drew on whiskers with pencil.

We had so much fun making these bunnies!

This commitment to family time, is why we were so interested in the Juicy Juice Family Time Campaign. This week, Juicy Juice kicked off a year long campaign focused on family time and they’re kicking it off with a pretty cool contest!

Juicy Juice knows that time is at a premium these days.  When surveyed, most parents said they do not get to spend enough quality time with their kids. Juicy Juice wants to help – In kicking off the 100% Family Time campaign, they’re dedicated to celebrating family time moments. Juicy Juice is working with expert Meredith Sinclair (author of “Well Played: The Ultimate Guide to Awakening Your Family’s Playful Spirit) to give families tips and resources – such as making meal time prep family time, scheduling family playtime with fun, DIY crafts and more.

To make things even more exciting, from now until April 17th, Juicy Juice is searching for the “Chief Family Time Officer”.  This is a nationwide search for moms, dads and other grown-ups who help find the fun amid busy schedules. To enter, adults can visit juicyjuice.com/familytime and share a photo with a caption describing a favorite family time moment or tip. Nine finalists will receive a month’s supply of Juicy Juice and a copy of Sinclair’s book, while one grand prize “Chief Family Time Officer” winner, determined by fan vote, will be selected to receive a month’s supply of Juicy Juice and the ultimate family time getaway – an all-expenses-paid vacation together to Beaches Resort!!!

Good luck with the contest and enjoy those special family moments this Easter!
