Mess Free Painting: Simple Easter Craft

April 10, 2017

My kids ask to paint all the time. Unless it’s summer and I can send them outside to do it, I don’t always say “yes” when they ask. It’s a production to get ready and then clean up. Also, something in the house usually ends up getting painted besides the paper. I wanted to make a simple Easter craft that all 4 kids could make and I could use to decorate. That’s how I came up with this mess free egg painting.

The girls are at the age where they can paint on their own, but their little brother wants to join in….which can get messy. I’ve heard of mess free painting, where you put the paint and paper in a ziplock but had never tried. I decided to try it and use paper cut in an egg shape. I love how they came out – even baby brother made one! I made this with kids age 7, 5, 2 & 1.

Mess Free Easter Egg Painting (good for toddlers right on up to big kids!)

Supplies: Paper plate, white paper or cardstock, Easter/pastel colored paint, large zip lock bag

Toddler Mess Free Painting

Directions: Cut an egg shape out of the paper. Put a few drops of paint on the paper. Place the paper in the zip lock bag and seal the bag. Let the child smash the paint around the plate. Take the plate out & let your “Easter egg” dry!
